New Vehicle

Agreed. I got heated seats in my 'hoe. I dont use em. Now cooled seats? My back is abhorrent in the amount of sweat it generates during a drive. I mean fucking really...whos back sweats that damn much?!?!
The ac dont work on my daily driver and my weekend car doesnt even have a compressor:( #mechaniclife

Ive looked at a few new srt8 and a few 5.7's for mid 30k-mid 40k right now. IMO thats cheap. The stang GT falls about the same and has 460 hp!

A xlt f150 will run you high 40k...forget options. Options? Pshhhh
Thats another 8-15k
I'm looking at a 4 door just because I don't want my kids stepping all over my shit in a 2 door. I'll prob end up going with a dealership like texashotrides when I go finally make the jump.

Hmmmmm Texashotrides huh? Didnt know u were down here...?

Btw if your set on a 3/4 diesel the Ram Tradesmen w/cummins is your best bet. Its the base model black bumpers, cloth/vinyl seats budget truck. But it has a cummins! Im looking at one in the mid 40k range. With a stick bro! So cool

Yeah more in the east. It'd be a couple hour drive for me to head that way lol. My buddy bought a 2015 ltz Duramax loaded with 20k miles for 34k. I just need to find an oil field dude out of work like he did and buy it before it gets repo'd

Find one in need of an injucter pump;) I've seen nice duramaxs go for 5-6k when the pumps go out and they just want to get out of it.

Yeah just a few...09-17.5:confused: they had that issue from 09 till they did the complete overhaul of the engine for the new 17 model. I've changed a bunch of em:(
I switched professions several years ago so I'm not up with all the current issues lol. What you think of cvt transmissions?

I'm looking into an 11' ish f350 diesel. I've had my 7.3 for 10 years now. Best engine ever made imo...
As an srt8 owner i wouldn't buy another chrysler.. it's a fun car, dangerous for sure. Mine is blown and 520 whp, just under 650 at the motor, but at the end of the day it's still a Chrysler. Too many reasons to list but I just don't like em.. My buddy just bought the new Shelby and it is fuckin cool.

I just kinda switched too;) still a mechanic but on a different um scale. Shits heavier now.
I can understand 100% why someone would change carers in this field of work especially if they were at a dealership.

11 was the first year for the 6.7 I think. I remember some of the ambulances I used to do inspects on had them. Quite the improvement over the 6.0 for sure but I've never had to tear into one.

Well you know it's just different kind of cars :)

Porsche - Mercedes - Aston - Alfa - lotus - Ferrari - Lamborghini - Nissan - Renault just a few of big brands here in Europe/Japan that does mass production (except lambo - Ferrari ) and sports car as well. I mean Renault for example with the Megane rs few years ago started beating supercar from left to right with a 35k euro car on the nurgburing.

As you well said its just a different way of engineering car. We build car to go fast on a track. That's what most our sports car are made for, from the one costing you 35k to the one that cost Half a milion.

Light, fast cars :)
Probably if gasoline would cost much less we would have seen different type of cars here as well :)

I have a love for both type of vehicles the American one and the others.

Probably you would feel great driving a under 2000lbs car with 250-300hp as much as I would love to drive a 7.0 v8 with 400+HP .... Supercharged of course because nothing like the whine of a damn supercharger :)

Oh and yes I do agree about how almost all your cars are affordable by almost anyone, something that here is not possible at all. Even mid sports car cost lots of money

Self-inflicted....
Upwards of 25% VAT aka sales tax on everything
Additional taxes on fuel

Idiocy at its best - way to go to cripple industries and people's lives. Europeans for you....

for he cost of the truck you have to make it last, mine is a f-250 but it came with the overload spring so it is one ton suspension, it came with a heavy duty trailer hitch, and it also came with the fifth wheel attachment installed.

Do they still put shit brakes in the 250? Used to be the same brakes as in the 150, so they wore like crazy.

Lol I went from 12v civilian and 24v military systems to voltage over 10k in my new job

The 6.0 got a bad rap but like most in my experience is mostly unwarranted. Thats not to say the folks who had coolant leaking in to their block was OK. I generally feel bad for ppl who got lemmons. Pay that much and quality should be the same across the board. But for whatever reason the invention of interchangeable parts built on a mass scale puts a kink in things. And EVERY manufacturer has those problems. Yes, even toyota which seems to escape criticism despite a warehouse full of complaints(literally) that has been neatly tucked away due to threats of law suits.

I used to have a f350 with a flat bed equipped with a 6.0 and a stick. Used it to haul colonial stone pallets out of the woods. A pallet equals roughly a ton and i routinely stacked 4 pallets (8,000lbs) on the frame rails and brought them to market. It was as reliable as the sun rises everyday. Even grossly overworked and overloaded constantly. I could pull the big hills in the adirondacks in OD at 63 mph without losing a tick, fully loaded.

6 figure mechanic salaries in this day and age. I know they exist

I like the old fashioned pushrod port injection 5.7 hemi. But its outdated now. Really is. The little 5.0 ford makes produces 90 more hp in stock form than the larger Hemi. The challenger seems like a nice cruiser but in no way is on par with its competition. You have to step up to the more expensive 6.2 hellcat, scat pack or demon to overcome that little 5.0. So were not comparing apples to apples then.

Apples to apples would be the 5.7 challenger vs the 5.0 stang. And in that comparison the stang wins everytime. Id be interested to hear what you dont like about em. It would be valuable to me.
