3-4 sets of push ups are my favorite warm up before bench. And when done with chest do a few more sets and let the blood flow. Also im a huge fan of warming up back with pull ups and finish tri's with weighted dips.

You mentioned WWII. So did I. That was THE LAST TIME that our freedoms were ever in jeopardy and that's even debateable.

I also don't want to hear this military crap, either. Unless you have actually FOUGHT, not served, then shut the fuck up. There are 300k people in the military who went there to get paid. That's it. No one joins the military hoping to go to war.

This has nothing to do with the marines, as we know them. Yes, they did exist, but it was technically France that saved our ass in the Revolution...and a little help from Poland, IIRC. The BILL OF RIGHTS gives us this ability. We have had this ability for 230 years. Get with the program.

I touched on this above and in my original post. It's a non-issue. Our freedoms are not affected by the current Iraqi conflict. One could argue that the terrorists have limited them by having us institute more rigorous security measures in airports, but that's about it, and we're not even fighting the terrorists in Iraq right now. Like I said, it's a non-issue.

I am a fervent military supporter, and not since that first time young Jared snuck me into the Rangers' barracks inside the trumk of his car, but since my same sex life partner parents first took up arms in protest for Stonewall, where my Godparents, Troy and Brock died so that their "signature" butt plug might do undamaged. The military bug was with me throughout my formative years, I remember stone washing my jeans in the 80s and singing "hardcore, marine corps" as I merrily cut holes in the knees, as was the fashion. Later as I "came of age" I enlisted with the Marines, due to my love of watersports and hard bodies. I dropped my lisp and my hips no longer swayed when I walked. I shaved my head, and my moustache, and threw away my versace for comabt fatigues and cut off denim shorts, tank top and shades, after my favourite drill instructor in "GI Jane". Many was the night us marines would huddle in the basement, feverishly passing out gun oil for lubrication, the memories I have are second to none.

No wonder the airline industry is in trouble I told myself. Just then, the attendant came on the intercom to inform us all that we were being delayed. The entire plane let out a collective groan. She resumed speaking to say "We are holding the aircraft for some very special people who are on their way to the plane and the delay shouldn't be more than 5 minutes. The word came after waiting six times as long as we were promised that "I" was finally going to be on my way home. Why the hoopla over "these" folks? I was expecting some celebrity or sport figure to be the reason for the hold up.........Just get their butts in a seat and lets hit the gas I thought. The attendant came back on the speaker to announce in a loud and excited voice that we were being joined by several U. S. Marines returning home from Iraq!!! Just as they walked on board, the entire plane erupted into applause. The men were a bit taken by surprise by the 340 people cheering for them as they searched for their seats. They were having their hands shook and touched by almost everyone who was within an arm's distance of them as they passed down the aisle. One elderly woman kissed the hand of one of the Marines as he passed by her. The applause, whistles and cheering didn't stop for a long time. When we were finally airborne, "I" was not the only civilian checking his conscience as to the delays in "me" getting home, finding my easy chair, a cold beverage and the remote in my hand. These men had done for all of us and I had been complaining silently about "me" and "my" issues. I took for granted the everyday freedoms I enjoy and the conveniences of the American way of life I took for granted others paid the price for my ability to moan and complain about a few minutes delay to "me" those Heroes going home to their loved ones. I attempted to get my selfish outlook back in order and minutes before we landed I suggested to the attendant that she announce over the speaker a request for everyone to remain in their seats until our hero's were allowed to gather their things and be first off the plane. The cheers and applause continued until the last Marine stepped off and we all rose to go about our too often taken for granted everyday freedoms......... I felt proud of them. I felt it an honor and a privilege to be among the first to welcome them home and say Thank You for a job well done. I vowed that I will never forget that flight nor the lesson learned. I can't say it enough, THANK YOU to those Veterans and active servicemen and women who may read this and a prayer for those who cannot because they are no longer with us. GOD BLESS AMERICA! WELCOME HOME! AND THANKS FOR A JOB WELL DONE !!!!! This is a ribbon for soldiers fighting in Iraq. Pass it on to everyone and pray.

Caboi- I, too, thought about signing up on 9-11. Quite frankly, I don't like towel heads. Never have. Never will. I'd love to kill some of the sonsabitches.

Hey bro, no harm done just a little pissed. Especially after my brother returned from Vietnam, he didn't get a whole lot of support from the neighborhood, here in Cambridge Boston! So when someone starts talking about the Military I try to give my 50cents worth of peace for my brother always do always will.
As for the pushup thread realize this exercise is not a serious muscle increaser, just a basic warmup between Chest sets, as stated in the previous Posts.
