Ordering over the net without getting into sh**

Exploiting relationships with friends, girlfriends, families like this :sucks:

If the risks of importing/ordering steroids arefar too great to assume for oneself, why would it be acceptable to place the risk on those closest to you?! Unless, of course, you dislike them so much that you rather see them face legal problems rather than deal with them yourself.

Well back to the subject. One tip with regards to tracking numbers. If anyone here uses Tor to try to stay more anonymous, I don't suggest checking your tracking at all over Tor. I've seen it stated a few places that USPS flags shipments if a Tor node has been used to check the tracking. I don't know if it's a fact or not, but I have heard twice of people getting busted after checking tracking over Tor. If you have to check, I would do it at a coffee shop or somewhere over clearnet.

Various places, Silk Road forums, research chem forums, etc. A quick google search will bring up discussion about it. Like I said, I don't know if it's a fact or not, but considering the likely hood of something being tracked through Tor being illicit, and the fact that it would be easy enough for them to tell if you're using Tor, I don't see why you would risk it. I think it's pretty standard advice on Silk Road, and part of the reason why sources on there rarely give tracking numbers.

I'm pretty sure the logic is that LE would need to prove that your friend ordered or otherwise knew that they would be receiving illicit material in order to gain a conviction. Otherwise I could just order a bunch of illicit material, request shitty packing, and have it sent to your house to settle a disagreement.

I think those that have friends receive for them believe their friends would have plausible deniability. Perhaps an errant belief, but I don't believe the vast majority of people who have friends receive for them, are shitty people who don't care about their friends. Perhaps their understanding of the law is incomplete, or altogether erroneous.

Whether or not it leads to a conviction isn't really relevant as far as I'm concerned. Asking a friend to do something that could lead to law enforcement showing up and interrogating them alone is a shitty thing to do. Now when the cops show up, the friend is placed in a bad situation: do they admit receiving on behalf of someone else (which is illegal) or do they lie and deny any knowledge of the package (also illegal). Whether the friend is exploited intentionally or out of ignorance, the result is the same.

Tor node: are you talking about the internet based USPS tracking function where you input the tracking # and it returns the location/status of the item?

Yes, checking your tracking on the USPS website. If you're asking about Tor, it's software and a network made of up nodes or relays to use the internet anonymously. It's most likely relatively anonymous in most circumstances, but it's still easy enough to tell if accessed your site using Tor. So if you use it to check tracking, or something linked to you, it's pretty likely that it's either you or the sender checking it, and it's pretty likely if you're using anonymity software that it might be something illegal. I could definitely see that being considered justifiable cause for a warrant.

I used to use something similar back in the DTV hacking days.;)
But as to the USPS track and confirm; I`ve been buying meds over the net for as long as its been possible and always use track and have never had a single problem with a shipment. but, of course have never bought a controlled substance.

I shouldn't have used such a poor example. I didn't want to give up my exact means of receiving, while trying to remain a bit transparent and helpful. Perhaps my scenario is a unique one, but having a friend who is familiar with law, similar "interests" as you, and whom you truly trust, makes things a lot easier.
