Scheduled one for next Tuesday. What can I expect? I don't even know where my pituitary is, let alone what an MRI is.

Mmartin said:The pituitary is located at the base of your brain, and is often called the "master controller" of the endocrine system. Beyond that I don't know.
I'm curious to know how long you had to wait for the MRI; I'm scheduled to have one in 5 months. Living in BC, Canada.

Sonny said:People with pituitary tumors are generally put on some kind of drug that inhibits prolactin. One such drug (Dostinex aka cabergoline) is used for this purpose, but not in the US. It has the side effect of making you very horny. People often use it as a recreational drug for this reason.
Smart move though, Krom. I'm glad that they are working with you and allowing you to do this.

I'm glad we don't have socialized medicine (yet) in the US. It might seem "free", but believe me, you pay for it one way or the other.Mmartin said:I'm scheduled to have one in 5 months. Living in BC, Canada.

i went through it as well......it sucked......Kroms_laugh said:Just got it done, and that was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Confined spaces suck. They wouldn't give me a Xanax....So I sat in there and quivered like a little girl.

Weatherlite said:Hope you get over that soon! Gonna be kinda hard to be a FF otherwise. Wearing a Scott SCBA and going into a small accessway while fire surrounds you? It's tough I'm sure.
Weatherlite said:Glad to hear it!! I know too many folks who somehow make it through EOD school only to freak out the instance they put on a bomb suit. Some get over it....others never do.
