Primo Cycle

Back day new program. It's a lot more volume than I was doing but got it done in 1.5 hrs. Deadlifts take up most of the time.....warming up. Pyramiding up. The way I have my program is the 1st three days are for strength and the 2nd set of 3 days is for hypertrophy. That said, I PR'd my DL. 225 for 1. I think I could have gone 10 lbs higher but I'll try that next week. Wound up taking a solid 5 days off from the gym. Felt rested. Forearms and hands feel better. Not 100% but better. Noticed db curls hurt them of all things.

Pinned yesterday and Tuesday will mark the beginning of week 5 of primo. Maybe noticing subtle changes right now? My body looks more purposeful if that makes sense. Like it's built to lift weights. Maybe. I took progress pics and I don't look different in them. Maybe it's the 5 days off. Maybe I think about these things too much. It's a mystery.

Anyway I AM more vascular. I think I can say that.

Very nice Wendy. How much longer are you going to run the primo? You may want to donate blood soon. Usually soon after I get the vascularity like that I start feeling toxic. Donating helps. It might be a good idea since you have been on a while now anyway.

End of July. Going for a physical soon so I'll have a benchmark. I was working out when I took that. So I'm not walking around looking all tren-y all the time. Grocery store BP is fine too. :)

Couldn't agree more. It's more then just BP. Your blood gets thick and it's hard on your organs. Sometimes I have to sit there and drain for 25 mins because my blood is so thick. Other times it only takes 10 mins. Donating allows me to get an extra few weeks out of my cycles. Makes me feel like a new man too.

Hey Wendy I'm not trying to scare you. My body always lets me know when it's time to donate. If you feel fine then don't worry about it. Especially with your BP in check. I get so sluggish and almost feel like I've got the flu when it's time for me to donate. Like mentioned, I feel toxic.

Thanks Odie. :). I feel fine but I'm def considering it now. My husband is due to donate. I may go with him. Giving blood is a phobia of mine so I will have to prep myself for it!

I'm the same way now. I had a chick stick me a few to many times trying to find a vein even though I have really good veins. As soon as I saw all the blood I turned very pale. Weird cause I have no problem pinning myself. I always tell the people at the blood bank I'm one of the sqemish now. I tell them that so they don't give me some dumb ass that's going to stick me more then once. You'll be fine. You're saving a life when you donate and helping yourself as well.

This reminds me of getting a cortisone shot a few months back... I noticed smelling salts next to the sharps container in the room and asked if it was for people that passed out from needles. He said yeah, you'd be surprised how often it happens. Then he was trying to relax me for the injection and everything thinking I was nervous, which I wasn't and found pretty funny since I had literally done a shot of test and hcg about 2 hours prior lol...I told him yeah don't worry I don't have a problem with needles, like it was a little inside joke with myself.

Then he pulls out this nasty looking syringe. I don't know what the gauge and length of that thing was but fucking thing just looked bad. He stuck me with that thing somewhere right in the knee and then moved it around once inside. I got a bit queasy and thought to myself, "dont you dare fucking pass out after that shit talk you pulled." I made it through without passing out but was humbled. Everytime I attach my drawing needle I think of that cortisone needle though.

Most of my fear comes from bad test results. Just not a good history there. One of the worst was before my acl reconstruction the pre-surgery blood work indicated I had leukemia. They called me at work with the results, asked me to meet them at the hospital take more tests. Hematologist oncologist calling my phone to set up appointments. I'm trying to figure out how to not die because I was a single parent. My second test came back normal as did the 3rd. Turns out the first phlebotomist didn't calibrate the machine before she ran my blood. Scared and scarred the shit out of me!

Yikes. That is scary, indeed. I'm glad you found out it was a misdiagnosis but it's ridiculous that you even had to go through that. Wow.

OMG I'm sorry you went through that. That's horrible. Glad you're fine. People in the medical field piss me off for the most part and half my family are nurses.

Sunday Chest Day! And boom! I got the 160 Bench I've been chasing. :). Soooo happy about that!!

Yesterday my forearms and hands started bothering me again and I took to Dr Google. Pretty sure it's tennis elbow or terminal cancer. One of those. I wrapped my forearms today and bought a roller last night for my hands. Rubbing my palms and that meaty area under the thumb area feels so good. Anyway I'll work around the moves that hurt. So far that's db curls and front plate raises.

No changes to sides. Having a hard time dropping weight. At 49 my metabolism moves at glacial speed. Will start investigating options.

Yes the cortisone needles are large. I got a gel injected into my knee about a week ago instead of cortisone. Supposed to be much longer lasting and actually lubricate the joint but in was much lower gauge than the cortisone. I'm guessing around 17 gauge 1 1/2 inches. He did use a numbing agent before and it was only minorly uncomfortable.

Have to laugh when I read people saying a 23 gauge is too large.

Lowest I've had is an 18 gauge and those things look nasty... I always associate that size needle to that cortisone sized needle but I'm sure it was a could sizes smaller.

Haha, I'm a 25 gauge man... 23 probably wouldn't be bad. 25 is painless and quick though. I've only ever used MCT oil though so its always quick.

What was that gel? I was soon going to look into another injection in the other knee. Maybe I'll inquire about that gel... pain popped up and squats have been put on hold.
