Propranolol and Cardio

I received some propranolol yesterday. I wanted to try it because my RHR is usually over 80, and why not. I took 10mg this morning before heading to double hot yoga classes. Last week the same two classes rated 137 "active minutes" (based on heart rate zones) on my Fitbit. This week it was 38 active minutes. My endurance felt about the same in each, but I sweat a whole lot less this week. I also kind of crashed and needed a nap today. I'll probably only take it for work-related steadiness in the future, and not around cardio.

Well, it is a beta blocker and nonselective, hence why lower heart rate>reduced activity (watch determines that based on HR) and less sweating since beta 2 activation causes you to sweat more. Since it is highly lipophilic and nonselective, it crosses the brain-blood barrier, causing fatigue and reduced energy.
Nebivolol is the best beta blocker because of its high cardio selectivity and low lipophilicity.

Nebivolol's selectivity makes it the best for heart rate, but not for the overall anti-adrenaline "calming" effects when used as an anti-anxiety med, which is why propranolol is prescribed for panic attacks and nebivolol isn't.

I just started testing out propranolol. 20mg occasionally. Really a smooth relaxing effect. I wouldn’t take it before lifting or cardio but taken in the evening as you are winding down really gets rid of all tension.

This is right. I just started nebi though and I feel relaxed, not signifacant. Maybe because my heart rate increased a lot with stress and that causes anxiety on its own.
