@hurricane @Leancuisine @gr8whitetrukker I know missed a lot of vets. But my memory fails me from time to time.

My oldest son was sworn in yesterday. He joined the Army with an Option 40 contract. Infantry OSUT at of course Benning, Airborne School then RASP (Ranger Assessment and Selection Program).

I was like a little bitch. I was just balling in joy. I almost grabbed all my adex and swallowed them. Jk!! But it was a proud moment to see my son follow in my footsteps.

He would walk with me while I rucked preparing myself for SFAS. He saw everything I did, jump school, he got to hang out with my team while going through Small Unit Tactics.

He plans to go SF after a few years in Batt. Then he started talking shit to me. He saw the email I received from CAG to attend their training, but I was fucked up and couldn't do it. He said to me that he's going make it to CAG.

Seeing him take that oath just broke me down. Proud moment for me.

That's awesome bro. You must be one proud Dad. Also sounds like you raised a fine young man and Patriot. Mine is starting his junior year of high school and wants PJ. I'm not dissuading him but he's not a very strong swimmer. But I'm getting him lessons. I wish your son all the best. I'm sure you instilled that never quit mentality into him. I'm sure he will Excel at whatever path he chooses as a soldier in the world's greatest Army! Congrats again.

I always told him once you start something there is no quitting. Thank you @hurricane he has the qualities of SPEC OPS soldier. Even now he puts others before him. His little brother and sisters. If they are still hungry avd they want seconds and there isn't any seconds he gives them his good. He is a patriot for sure.

I didn't realize I was grooming him for this moment. I just took him with me on my rucks so we could spend time together. Since I was always training and not home much. That was our bonding time. But he saw the sacrifice I made to be an elite soldier. I was telling him the other day that while going through SF I had fractured a bone in my T-spine. I didn't know it, it didnt hurt. When I retired is when I found out.

It was uncomfortable but what SPEC OPS training isn't uncomfortable. So I drove on just thinking it was something small.

I hope he does well. Another sheep dog going to protect the sheep from the wolves. Good man. Honorable. Courageous. I hope god watches over him. This world is kinda a hand basket right now. Unsure of what direction we are going. War? World War? Not good. Im proud of him even tho i never met him. It is a good thing.

I'm sure your body has taken a beating. Just as mine. But we did it with a purpose of truly believing we would sacrifice our lives defending this nation. And as parents it's our job to instill integrity and self confidence(not arrogance) into our children. You my friend have done just that.

You should be proud! He's not even my kid and your post made me proud of him as a fellow dad/American!

Congratulations my man. You have the qualities of a great father and your son sounds like quite the young man himself. to see that pride from his father will make him push harder when times are tough. You've prepaired him well and he will do extraordinary things.

Thank you for your service and for his future service, pretty sure Canada is always safe because nobody wants to fuck with your army and y'all our big brother.
