If there is a possibility of connection data stored with the possibility that people other than Millard having access to it it's serious enough that members have the right to know.

@janoshik questioned whether @CensoredBoardsSuck has access to the forum administration data or may have used phishing links to obtain member IP addresses.

This isnt the first time I've heard @CensoredBoardsSuck being accused of having mod powers and/or abusing mod powers. I assumed it was a ridiculous claim. I dunno.

I'm concerned about the saving of IP addresses on the site.

We have every right to suspect that he has access to ip addresses on here unless he can prove otherwise. Which is a fucking problem.

First and foremost, @CensoredBoardsSuck does not have access to server/forum IP logs or forum administration data. There is no evidence to suggest that the forum was hacked and/or subjected to any form of cyber-attack.

Secondly, IP addresses are logged at the server level and forum level for a period not to exceed 30 days. This is done for server troubleshooting and forum rules enforcement.

No one outside of the web hosting company has access to the IP addresses other than me. As a matter of policy, I have not shared IP addresses with anyone under any circumstances. This policy has been applicable for the past 10+ years.

Based on what I know, I find it extremely unlikely that CBS obtained any IP addresses from MESO.

This reported rule violation is without merit.

Of course, I can confirm or deny CBS's allegations based on the IP information that I do have. But more on that later.
