Ahh ok, learn something new every day. Lyophilization stoppers (left) vs Serum stoppers (right). I'm surprised serum stoppers can't hold vacuum, but clearly there's a reason for two types. Still, hate those "flaps", and have seen them on oil vials. Guess it was just what was cheap or available. Thanks @narta
