Random, all in my head, or be concerned?

I've seen behavior bordering on the psychotic from very close friends who were daily smokers for many years. A bit scary if you ask me. Just looking at some of the data available around schizophrenia, one can imagine how many more patients don't necessarily "meet the criteria for diagnosis of schizophrenia" but may fall into other degrees of behavioral disorders as a direct correlation.

Pot use has been closely associated with "First break psychosis" for decades. It's a severe psychotic breakdown because those who've never gone through it before tend to have the worst reactions.

I'm no puritan, but am baffled why there's little to no efforts at harm reduction accompanying legalization. 1984's "Soma" comes to mind. For me, the worst effect is it makes me entirely too satisfied with everything. Couch and cartoons become life's pinnacle.

@Ghoul you made me remember one of the first times I smoked, the first time I took a bong hit... I literally thought I was going to die. Good thing my friends were with me, like eight of them, but they all laughed at me. Then, while I passed out on the couch, took my car and went out for the night.

Typical stoner friends lol. Still, a one time freakout is a lot less damaging than the long term "comfort stupor" it induces with regular use. Then add in the very attractive illusion of enhanced creativity, or even as some incorrectly perceive improved cognition, and it becomes a slippery slope of one bad cannabis influenced decision after another.

Should at least be a link on the packaging to what credible research shows the real effects of regular, heavy, and long term use are. A number for pot tax funded cessation help for those finding their use problematic. Some places require pics of smoker's lungs on cigarette packages, I'd like to see before/after MRIs showing the clear hippocampus shrinkage of long term pot users.

So, someone said above. Stop thr marijuana. I know you've smoked before and nothing. I smoke marijuana for YEARS and never an issue. Now I see someone else smoke and boom instant anxiety. Heart racing, thinking my heart is going to give out. Panic attacks cause my heart is racing. It's a circular death spiral for myself, smoking the pot is.

This is just my 2 cents. Just one day it went from being a good high to a bad high.
