The undeniable truth is that Russia is laying waste to Ukraine. That means you whether you like it or not.
Russia can't be destroyed because of it's nuclear weapons. That is all you have. You have a crippled economy that will be crushed in the months to come.

The Russian parts of the country literally seperated from the Ukrainian government after the US orchestrated a far right coup and overthrew the Ukrainian government in 2014.
One of the first actions the coup installed government did was outlaw the Russian language in schools and public places.
This led the donetsk and luhansk provinces to believe the Ukrainian coup installed government was hostile towards them so they succeeded. Claiming independence.
donetsk and luhansk both have their own ethnic Russian armies fighting against the ukranian military right now.
You're absolutely incorrect in your statement that the ethnic Russian parts of Ukraine don't want anything to do with Russia.
They literally spent the past 8 years asking for Russia's help.

There were a minority of FIGHTERS who were not supported by the Ukrainian government. Should they have delt with them? In hindsight, it would have cost lives, but it was a situation of the enemy of my enemy thing.

My concern is that the actions of our leadership have escalated this when they could have prevented it.
I can't vote against Putin. And I have no say in the decisions or actions taken by the Russian federation or it's Ukraine allies in what looks like a terrible civil war
But I'm supposed to have a say in this democracy. And I want our leadership to do whatever they can to deescalate the suffering of both the Ukrainian and Russian people. Instead of provoking it for their own greedy ambitions.
And I don't see Americans I happen to disagree with as my enemies, or the enemies of America herself. I see the people who try to control the narratives and suppress the opinions of other people they disagree with as our mutual enemies.
Because finding common ground is possible when all involved parties choose to look for it.
And that's what I think we need to do. Right here. In Ukraine and in the world.

Russia is going to have to own the invasion. They can argue that were provoked, and that argument may have merit. But, they still threw the first punch. And nobody will forget that.
