Sheiko strikes again

I got the Sheiko app and I love it. Unfortunately after 2 weeks on it I had a flare of whatever the fuck this shit is I have in my back . Hopefully the docs can figure out how to make it more manageable and I can get back to something with Sheiko. Until then it’s pump training for me! Ugh
I thoroughly enjoyed it, hope you can get back into it at some point!

Little to no time. Business to attend to in Vacationland today. Maybe some northern cuisine in the food thread later?

Capacity for higher volume is growing, all around solidness is returning quickly. The bicep and offending tendon are just fine. :)

Damn, 10 reps on dead’s. I’m breathing heavy reading that shit. Good work
Lol, yeah buddy! Heavy emphasis on hook grip development right now, liking the volume with some lighter 5*5/5*3 stuff sprinkled in there. The ratio of volume to intensity will start to transition a little bit soon...

Dude, you ain't kidding. I felt like we had this group of power lifters killing it, logs going strong everywhere. Then all of a sudden injuries, medical conditions, the franny bullshit, etc. The group took a hit.

2018 - the year of health, progress and fun!
Ain't that the truth! It seems most of us have been battling injuries and what not. I'm finally pretty close to 100%. I'm glad you're getting better too Icky.

Still moving and grooving in the gym. Still drifting a bit. Was looking at a BB plan called mountain dog 2.0 as something to do. Not sold yet. I want to do Sheiko lol...

FML is settling down, lesson learned. Front squats only for the time being. The hip fracture is lingering on and on here, they said it would heal quickly on it's own :( they also said it was just under the threshold for surgery, too. I'm wondering if the bone fragement is causing damage as i continue to work out? If I start getting back into my deductible this fiscal year I'll have another MRI on it. Something is definitely needing another look in there I'm afraid.

Work is killing me. I'm hitting 12 hours routinely right now and I hate it. I still get overtime though, so every other week I get to stash more cash away. That doesn't suck. The long days are a by product of consultants sucking at life.

The wife and I are currently looking for a new house. That's some cool news. Staying very local to where I am, just looking to expand our footprint so to speak. Keeping the current property. Shit is expensive folks! 400k/500k for anything decent. Yikes lol. It's like you have to spend 300k to get into a smaller home that's in good shape or something with size that needs lots of tlc. I need size and fuck adding home reno time to my life. Don't have the time.

Went to the gym super late last night, for me anyway. Saw a dude I've known since 3rd grade but havent seen in close to 20 years. Turns out this kid is a professional wrestler now, like WWE type stuff. He's on the internet and errything. Pretty cool. He's a bit shorter than me but absolutely yoked. Down to earth and chill still so that's cool.

Will stop drifting sometime soon....

Did they Dr's say anything about working out and your hip at all when you were in last?

Out where im living, its a sellers market for sure. Have had a few friends/family memebers sell their houses in the last year. All of them sold their place within 2-6 weeks.

Which Mountain Dog are you looking to do? i think it would probably be beneficial for you at this point to do something for hypertrophy based.

They didn't say anything, but I didn't mention it because it wasn't bothering me. It was fine until I tried low bar again. Front is perfectly fine though. I have complicated hips I think, all stemming from my knee falling apart on me a few years ago. That's my right femur, what you can't see is a carticel implant. I basically used my left leg for 90% of my lower body power for a few years. I'm going to go back and see a dude POB suggested for me. Saw him once for the hip and like a week later I ripped my arm up. Good kid, super cool gym. 395722_4743837986690_854700533_n.jpg

I'm looking at 2.0, the sentinel. Another member sent it over to me a little while ago. I'm happier doing more of a hypertrophy based workout plan tbh, when I review the past few years I'm happier and healthier doing that stuff. I'm not naturally strong like some of you guys, I break down way to easily. Have to keep that in mind, especially as I creep up in years...

I wish there was more product out there for real estate, it's slim pickings in my slice of heaven. Can't wait to find something though, plan on spending the next few decades there so I'm going to be picky!

Fun stuff!
Looks kinda like my dads back. He is like the bionic man.

Im really interested in JM's programs. For me ive found doing more accessory work in a hypertrophy manner has somewhat helped keep me healthy. i think the issues with my low back is its just a weakness of mine/technique.

if you dont mind, send me over sentinel. After my meet in August, id like to do a more body building approach for a few months.

Just finished up day 2 of the Sentinel. Tougher than I thought it was going to be. I'm getting humbled by the accessory work, no doubt. I'm so swollen and puffy and infused with blood it isn't even funny. By the time I'm on the 2nd half of the workout I'm really having to focus, lighter than anticipated weight as well. It's hard as fuck to get good reps in that condition. Honestly, it's the same pump I got from TRNE. It's insane and almost uncomfortable. Hat's off so far to Meadows.

Legs last night, chest today.

Day 3

Shoulders. Another slice of humble pie.

Tried that circus dumbbell at the end of my workout. Right side I got 5 with good form. Left side I got none :) still have a ways to go here lol.

Starting to see some oblique action. Promising stuff.

Check out Brian Alsruhe on YouTube for a good instructional on circus dumbbell. He's got great instructional videos... If I were just a little closer I would lift at his gym.

I've read a good bit about Juggernaut programming the past few months... It might be a good option for you. Very long cycles/waves etc. Hypertrophy phasing, the whole thing. It might be a better fit for you... Sheiko is cool but it may have just been setting you up for injury with how some of it is laid out. I have a spreadsheet that breaks some of the programming down and calculates everything for you if you ever want it.

Depending on how you want to set it up, you can really use it for a lot of different goals. Lots of ways to just set it up as an athletic program. I was interested in it initially for Strongman training... Chad Wesley Smith, who wrote it, is a professional strongman and powerlifter but he was a big time shotput guy before that, so he has a good background.

Took him like 4 contests to get his Strongman pro card... Which I think is the minimum amount you'd need to achieve a pro card.

Thanks dude, that would be cool. I'd appreciate that a lot. As the months go by I'm feeling like that straight up power lifting setup isn't for me. I'm just not built for it like you guys are :(

Thanks for the info, too. Gives me some stuff to read!

Back day.

Straight up spent. JM knows his shit. I look back at my workouts and how I just bounced around after my arm healed. I put a lot of effort in, and it wasn't for nothing, but this is program is working me over like I'm a child. It's refreshing.

5th day in a row at the gym, putting real effort in. I'm in rare form right now. Work is still crushing me, the house stuff is a MAJOR stress factor and it seems like everything else in life that can test me and is doing just that. The gym is basically the only thing keeping me sane right now. Thank God I'm not injured.
