Anyone played this b4? Last weekend was my first time. There were 30 teams. Played normal rules. Games had 1 hour time limits. THis was in Iowa and we have had a cold spell like no other for the last 3 weeks with a ton of snow. the fields weren't cleared or anything. The ball felt like solid steel. Stung some when u hit it.
During the summer we talked about playing in this tournament and it sounded cool. Well after this cold spell I didnt want to play. That all changed in the first inning. We started playing and the competitive juices started flowing and it was awesome. Couldn't feel the cold any longer. My team won 2 and lost 2. Fucking outfielders dropping the ball screwed us on Sunday. Overall it was a blast. Really sore and tweaked my hammy that I tore last summer but am ready to do it again next year. One team brought their RAGBRAI bus to the tourney LMAO if u r from Iowa u know what i am talking about. Good partying after the games. If u guys get the chance to play in one go for it

did you guys break any bats? The compression of the ball really changes under 50f.And i have never played winterball. I only play fall league, to hot in the summer.

OUr team didn't. We didn't use any real nice bats. Some teams were using very expensive bats. They had to of ruined them. Under 60 degrees is not recommended and it was below zero windchill. I am telling you that ball felt so f'n hard. Playing catch it was like catching solid steel w/o the weight. The ball still flew pretty good. Other teams used demarini's, the worths with the shell and the tri shell eastons. I saw all of these in use. Those teams must've had someone with money or the warranty was almost up on the bats otherwise just complete idiots would use those on a day like that.

I did that twice when I lived in Ohio, it was a blast. But I'd rather play football in the snow. I live out west now so I'm not used to the cold anymore.
