Hey guys! Does ALL synthetic HCG test postive on a pregnancy test? The reason I'm asking I have quite a few vials and the first one I tested was negative.

Let me know.

This is one for Bill or Dr. Scally...in theory I would think yes, but I'm not for sure.

The urine test limits are probably higher than male use. In pregnancy, hCG levels are quite high. I am unsure as to how high, but my guess is significantly more. However, the blood test will show up hCG.

Dr. Scally. Thanks for the input. What if mixed with Bacteriostatic water and then actually adding the 5000iu onto the strip? I was told this would show positive on a home pregnancy test.

In that case, I would think there would be a positive test. Again, I do not know the test sensitivity.

I got some HCG that was premixed that i was leary about so i tested it and came out positive for HCG,i had to use a fair amout to test it but was positive.

Yes, the HCG should test positive.

If suspecting that HGH is not legit, a lot of guys will test it to see if it's HCG. There have been problems in the past with this issue before people started using a pregnancy test to check.

How much did you use for the test? I would think 5000iu would be enough!!!

I don't have experience with testing HCG but the concentration detected in urine is extremely low.

Thanks Bill! I would think with the new HCG diet craze that questioning the legitimacy of HCG products and testing of that particular product would be more of a concern.

Agreed, and given how cheap the home pregnancy tests are, it makes a ton of sense to do this.

Later today or at worst tomorrow I'll check into the detection threshold of the kits so as to see what dilution of HCG from vials they ought to be able to detect.

Mine was 5000iu per mil,i used enough to wet the tester enough for it to wick up into the tester. It was already premixed as 1 mil so it was a pretty potent mixture.

The pregnancy test kits do require a relatively large volume of solution -- they have to be fully wetted -- but probably extremely little HCG.

A better way to test would probably be to add a very small amount, some number of IU that I will figure out, to 8 ounces of water and then use that for the tester.

Thanks again Bill. Let me know what you find out.

I dont think it would take much to detect the HCG because its so concentrated,I imagine with a pee test its pretty diluted and harder to detect.

Actually "I have read" that pregnant women at points in their pregnancy, can excrete a million I.U.'s of hcg a day. This was from an explanation of the mechanism of the hcg diet which may raise red flags for some.

The threshold of detection of the kits ranges from 25 mIU/mL to 100 mIU/mL.

So let's go with the highest value, and then double it for confidence. And let's consider using 100 mL of water for dilution (a little over 3 ounces) instead of the 8 ounces that I wrote before.

In that case, we need 20 IU of HCG added to the 100 mL of water.

Hardly any.

If using an 8 ounce glass of water, then say 250 IU for a round figure.

I have not gone and tried this: I don't have any HCG at the moment.
