The Most Proven Liver Supplement: You'll Be Surprised

Has anyone tried drinking coffee after noticing an elevation in their ALT/AST liver enzymes and actually noticed an improvement in their numbers? I tried drinking coffee to help lower my mildly elevated enzymes but so far haven't noticed any improvement.

Apparently GI doctors are noticing improvements in their patients, but also to them AST/ALT values aren't the most important thing when it comes to liver health. They look at ultrasounds, liver biopsies and outcomes such as mortality rates as well because sometimes the blood test numbers improve but the actual liver condition does not.

I see you have tried Injectable Glutathione mate - Did you notice any improvements via numbers from taking this? I have had a lot of friends say they have started taking it but as I see it if we are taking NAC, Glutamine and Glycine then our body can produce enough of its own Glutathione can't it?

Well again I'd caution against using lab test numbers as your only assessment of liver health, but I had labs drawn and AST/ALT was in normal range while using injectable glutathione. But also I was taking a variety of other supplements, drinking coffee and being careful not to injure my liver at the time so I can't really draw any conclusions from it. And even if I could I'm just one person.

But I feel confident saying it won't harm your liver.

And also keep in mind that injectable glutathione cannot cross the cell membrane and be absorbed into your cells. It is instead rapidly broken down into it's metabolites within minutes, and it is those metabolites that enter the cells and are probably rebuilt into glutathione or similar sulfur based antioxidant molecules. So it might just be doing the same thing NAC does anyway.
