The road to 1500..

Decided to log my current adventure/cycle. The goal is to hit a 1500#total @220lbs by the New year when I will compete in a PL meet. Stats are currently 6'2 220.(pictures will come later when I'm not at work). The log will be indefinite till I hit said goal, whether it'd be on cycle or not. Working with a local coach who will be doing my programming

Have been lifting consistently for 2.5 years. Started after being sober for a little while. Cycle history, have 3 in my lifetime. 2 within the last 3 years. Have been off for over a year and focused on my diet and training and what works for me.

Cycle will be
1-12test E @ 600
12-16 Test A @ 500
1-8 NPP @ 500
6-16 Tren blend(100E/50A/50H)@600

Have pharma AI's and PCT. Will be doing Scallys Power PCT unless anyone has any other recommendations. Also have some orals on hand I may throw in. Blood work will be done at the 6week mark. Everything will start tomorrow. Finishing up my deload and resting. Hurt my lower back 2 weeks ago hitting a PR on DL. Will be switching from conventional to sumo.

Will really be focusing on squats a lot, as my first 6 months of training I did zero of them. So I have some catching up to do in that department.

BB Bench pause 230 5x6. RPE 8
3sec pause BB bench 3x4. RPE 8
Weighted pull ups 60# 3x5. RPE 9
Over DB extensions. 110. 3x10. RPE 9
Ab roller. 4x15

Overall was a solid session. Felt like I was gonna puke after the squats. Haven't done squats for volume in a while. On my way to eat Steak and all you can eat shrimp!

60lbs of added weight on pull ups is pretty bad ass.
 
Fuck yeah!. I love all these PL logs popping up. My goals are all BB but am a big fan of PL. Subbed.
 
@insertnamehere weighted pull ups have been a staple in my regimen since I started back up lifting.Love doing them. Was pretty fried when I got to them in my workout.

@ebkallday if I'm not mistaken, I remember you're pretty beastly with the deadlifts!

Ate roughly 3-4 pounds of shrimp, 8oz sirlion and a sweet potato for dinner. And just polished off a pint of vegan salted Carmel ice cream from a local shop that makes all their own stuff in house. I'm becoming lactose intolerant, so I'm trying to give my girlfriend a break once and a while.

I was at one point. I hurt my lower back repping 495. Busted out 10 reps, turned to walk away and almost fell to the ground. I was so jacked and amped up, I was hyperextending my back at the top of the lift like a fucking retard. A few trips to the chiro and 6 months later I had enough courage to start deads again. Now I only will do two warm up sets followed by 4 sets of ten with 405lbs. I know I could easily stack on more but am scared as fuck. Once bitten twice shy... Lol.

Why not do ten sets of four. Or 8 sets of 5? You'll still be moving the same volume of weight. It's just now you won't be as fatigued by the 6th or 7th rep where your form is probably starting to break down.
 
Ready to watch your numbers climb. Congratulations on getting and staying sober. Much better to be addicted to the iron. How old are you?
 
@Masters Power thanks. Celebrated 3 years sober today. Best three years of my life. I'm 29 for another couple months. Not stoked on hitting my 30's.

I hit 30 back in January. The aches get a little worse, the nagging injuries take a little longer to heal, the recovery from training needs a little bit more sleep..... All things you have to look forward to :D lol
