The road to 1500..

You should be well beyond that. I'd think 475x10 @7 easily. Are you still easing back into things?

On the other hand those high reps might kick your ass right now. I had to tap out after two sets of ten on squats last night. I was near puking and the back and quad pumps were almost unbearable. I did one rep on my third set and racked it. It was bad.

i think i should beyond that also, but i used a 1RM calculator and 455 at 13 reps puts me at a 1RM of 683.

i still will probably shoot for 455, as that was the original number in my head. im not trying to go too hard and give everything i small break, but i also am not trying to go too light. last winter i was fucking around doing sumo and was on rep 12 of 405 when i tore my intercostal. i could have done at least 5+ more reps. we will see how 455 goes and maybe bump it up for the following sets.

1RM calculators are wonky when entering anything over five reps in my experience.

I did 465x10 @10 beltless conventional right after my meet in January and I'd never done more than 555lbs conventional at that time, although I did 585 a couple months later.

I think I've finally gotten my routine where I don't bother my injury. I guess I'm running it another nine weeks. I hope my deadlift isn't awful after all the time off. I'm already itching to be going heavy again, but I'll see this through. Still want to pull 650 in April.

ill do 455 for something like 5 and see how it feel. i can generally tell how many reps i have left after doing 5. looks like ill be shooting for 475! first time doing deads since the meet so fuck it.

my buddy said to me, youll probably pull my 1rm for 10 reps. he just pulled 505 for 2 and id love to pull 495 for a set of 10, which i beleive i can, it just wont be a 7RPE. especially since ill be using straps and doing T&G

I pulled 495x8 @10 no straps early in my last meet prep when I'd just switched to sumo. If I wasn't injured I believe I could pull 500x10 @10 on a good day.

9-21

Deadlifts
495
2 sets 10 reps
1 set 9 reps
could have done 10 on the last set but it would have been around a 9-9.5RPE

Rows
120's
5 sets 7 reps

hyperextensions
bodyweight
3 sets 10 reps

pull ups
3 sets AMRAP
15
10
8

My pull up game is WAYYYY down. to be expected though considering i havent done them in a few months. used to be able to bang out close to 30 reps at this bodyweight. the deadlifts also zapped a bunch of my energy.

first set was definitely a 7, second around a 8.
im sure if i had taken a longer break in between i would have been okay. roughly 90-120 seconds between sets. trying to get my conditioning up some. 10 rep deads are crucial, they take alot out of you. my traps havent been this sore in a while and my glutes were on fire yesterday during my sets

edit; have a ART appointment today and she is going to be working on my glutes along with my hips. started doing that Limber 11 you reccomended so hopefully a mixture of both will provide good results.

i will be doing the Limber 11 on non lifting days and on lifting days ill be doing full body tempering, as suggested by coach. provided one of the guys im friends with are at the gym at the same time as me and can do it. i can do some of the areas myself but back, hams and calves i can not do myself. it can be rather painful in trouble spots but im told it will get easier the more i do it and with time.

I just came across this post and want to add some Input.. looking at your op I think addin over 300 pounds to your total is a long shot. . I have done a number of meets. I would really put emphasis into your sq and deads. That's where I think you can make make up most of the pounds. Question how many meets have you done and what was your total. Also at three weeks out I would do a mock meet. And if you can get your hands on some anadrol start taking 50mg a day split in 25mg doses. on meet day when you give your openers to the judge take 50 pounds of your las prs and start there l. by meet day the drool will be working just fine and you will be able to judge how strong you feel. Also nothing amps your adrenaline up like a crowd of people watching g you lift. It's a awesome feeling. And one more thing if you want to compete at 220 you have to be 220 and under 1 pound over and it puts you in a whole other weight class. Good luck and keep it heavy..

Normally I don't roast people on forums. Giant waste of time. But....

Clearly you read the first post and not the rest. I have since added close to 300 pounds on my squat and deadlifts alone in one year span. Since my original post.

Have competed 2 times since then. One in April and one a couple weeks ago. Why I appreciate your "input" reading clearly isn't your strong suit. Read the first page of the book and not read the rest and give critiques.

I'm am not saying I'm a professional when it comes to this sport, by any means. But I have some people in my circle that are guiding me along this journey.

Be sure to follow along. You have any meets coming up @Boxsquatter ?

Nope didn't read along was just scanning thru post thought I would give some input.. and I would never normally roast anyone either seeing how it's a big waste of time. I am new to this forum not the sport. How your training is still going well. What were your meet lifts. ??

@Boxsquatter
its going fairly well. was dealing with some hip issues leading into this meet. which finally seem like there are working themselves out, slowly but surely. with doing some mobility work daily and getting ART treatments it has seemed to help.

meet lifts were(weighed in at 235 at the evening weight ins)
squat- 215kg
Bench - 165kg
Dead- 280kg

missed all of my 3rd attempts. left alot on the table because of squats. missed my first attempt due to not hitting depth. so the 215kg was techincally my opening weight. 3rd squat was 227.5kg which i made very easily, just got redlighted on depth. bench i missed 172.5 for my 2nd and 3rd attempts. 3rd attempt deads was 290kg. got it just below my knees and stalled.

goals for upcoming meet are
250kg squat
175kg bench
295kg deadlift

The thing people don't understand is your body is so taxed at a meet by the third attempt at any of the big 3 you are spent that's why you should always start at a opener at least 20-25% less than your best so if you miss your first or second you are not stuck and don't blow the lift totally. You get a A+. Putting all the work into getting ready is almost as exhausting as the meet itself. The last one I did lasted 8hrs. And as far as the hips go there are a lot of good mobility exesises out there. Keep competing it's the only way to get better.✌️
