What good is that? I need super accurate 3 decimal places on my gram scales when measuring the fuel for this sex machine.Hell yeah man! You could always stand on a scale and eat food till your weight increases
Bursted. LolBust, busted, burst
stihl
Ok guys, Iceman is asking for a spoon on 2 things
1. Anyone own/work in lawn care. Looking at getting a stihl string trimmer, and literally all the models looked the same but varied in price from 150-900$
2. Whos using melatonin successfully?
Makes badass chainsaws.
All trimmers and lawn equipment are pretty much the same in the consumer grade, even in commercial grade. It all comes down to use and care. Spent some time running the maintenance for a commercial operation (I have a huge resume) and didnt matter if we used sthil, echo, whatever. They all had their problems.
Honestly got to the big box store and get whatever 2stroke model you like. I can trim 4 acres with a Ryobi or whatever. I got one step up from the smallest one.
They make great everything I’ve been told
My Troy bilt was ok, but I added a brush cutter blade and now it’s junking up. Just rebuilt the clutch pack, and I had to rebuild carb. And I’ve always treated it nicely.
I was just wondering if I purchased a nicer stihl if it would last longer
Short answer is no. Less short answer is probably not, sthil makes a more robust product but you’d be better served buying a larger version of any brand.
The explanation is Brush cutters weigh a lot and put a lot of stress on the clutch from centrifugal force so they burn up faster. They also bog the motor down and soot it up since the oil doesn’t completely burn. Same concept if the string is way too long. I was in constant argument with account managers because the crews would remove the guards that kept the string length down. I didn’t like it because it burned up clutches and motors faster, they didn’t care because the jobs got done faster. They just shifted labor costs in the field to parts and labor in my shop.
Go to home depot and get an Echo SRM 225. Its the most basic straight shaft they make. I can get 2-3 years outta these commercially. For a homeowner, youll get a much longer life. They take a beating and the Echo warranty is top notch. This model is also more powerful than ones selling for 100 or more..I personally use a Redmax but my guys use Echo and beat the shit outta them all day. Never considered a stihl, honestly.Well that’s what I was thinking since a stihl is more robust than a Troy, it could handle the weight better. Or are you saying a bigger Troy would outlast a smaller stihl?
Or are you suggesting a 4 stroke? Which I would be ok with lol
Bigger Troy vs slightly smaller sthil, your choice. Avoid 4stroke small engine equipment, there’s a reason no one uses 4stroke. It was created to appease shitty home owners who can’t comprehend mixing oil.

Yup- there's also a variation of this model that can interchange multiple attachments etc...its ps225 i think....but definitely a worthy investment all around. Thanks man. I’ll look into it! Do they make the attachments?
@T-Bagger needed in aisle 3 for a spoon. Repeat @T-Bagger aisle 3.@TitaniumGear (TGI) do you have an up to date list of gear? Or do you keep the original post updated? I was going to scroll through the thread to find out but there are 2830 pages
Just a PSA for PSA(palmetto State armory) is having a pretty badass sale right now. Just picked up an upper build kit for a 10.5" AR "pistol" kit for less than 300 bucks and a stripped lower for 40. Last rifle I got from them was awesome. Good bang for your buck for something fun to shoot around.
