And let me be straight, I an not by any means military trained. I am just going off what I know I have personal experience in.

I have shot the 50 a good amount, but it just does not seem accurate to me. Just seems like a good enough accuracy. Now destroying a brick wall or jeep at a certain range thats a different story
Would you want to carry that thing 10clicks ? And for what ? There are far better things like Carl Gustovs or Law rockets to kill vehicles with. Hell I’ll take another 240B machine gun over a Barrett anyday of the week.

G19 is the best fighting pistol made. Are there better quality guns ? Maybe but not for fighting.
No thank you. 2X4 grip due to the use of polymer magazine and odd grip angle (European) there are so many quality handguns on the market right now that are just as reliable as a glock. The above statement just doesnt ring true anymore. H&K anyone

Can I at least use a 10mm glock?!? And I would rather Glock than 1911 anyways

Plus I’ll just test outta the pistol and move on go the other stuff. What scopes you guys rock, night forces?

Who the fuck used 10mm anywhere else in the world? Scopes really depend on who won what contract at the time.

Special forces don’t get whatever they want, they are still under the thumb of bureaucratic nonsense. Now they do get a lot of gear line dogs would jerk off too.
Spent my time in Ranger Regiment, LRSD and Scouts, not one single sniper had anything positive to say about the barret, They all favored the 700 or a modified M14.
They have some fancy AR10 variants for Designated marksmen but I’ve never played with it.

Really depends who you talk to about the AR10s either great or a bunch of stoppages. I think the fact that there’s no industry standard for the AR10 platform creates problems. The civilian market took the AR15/M16 platform and built off of that standard, doesn’t seem to be working the other way around.

You should see the 300winmag AR platform

Yeah I’ve never been a fan of the 50s. I do think they have a place, but to me there are much more sophisticated rounds to use for long distance anti personal

Much better rounds out there but availability and all around use aren’t there. Good luck with a supply chain for 300 or 338 for the mass infantry. Meanwhile .50 is everywhere and share commonality with many US and international platforms. Check out the longest kills and even in the days of Hathcock they were taking people out at 2000+ yds. The longest ones are 3,000+ yards with a 50. So it’s very capable. Now yes, at those ranges, there’s just as much luck as skill.

They have a place in fixed positions. People fail to realize how heavy all the gear a soldier carries. You can be humping damn near 250lbs of extra weight. Think about that ? Civilians have no concept of this when they think of what really goes on in combat. Rucksack, body armor, ammo, food, water, lickies and chewies, mission essential equipment, radios, batteries the list is endless. They wonder why we all have back problems.

And knees :(

It’s hilarious when people complain about 40lbs of gear in training. Yea, throw some plates, Ammo and water in there to start

What does fify mean?
And YMMV?
anybody?

Fixed it for you
Your mileage may vary.

You get blown out of your house how you going to transport your 6.5 ? You have some Cached to your bugout location ?
Big Three.....

Of course I have it hidden. And who saying I dont have a 9mm and 7.62 lol I am saying in a pick what you want scenario, I want my 6.5 lol

I get asked quite often to “train” people in tactics. They want me to take them up in the mountains and show them some shit. Once I go into detail on how I would train them they quickly lose interest and it turns into take me to the range and show me some shit

Well when you’re talking world wide that’s iffy, any government can issue anything. The NATO countries have .338LM and .50 obviously 50 is more used and may be why there are more kills with it. But for someone to put a .50 on target at 3,540 meters (over 2miles) and iceman say there’s much better rounds out there makes it an uphill battle for his argument.

Full disclosure, I’m not a big precision guy. I’m a door kicker anything over 500meters is not my specialty.

I must have missed the part when you said we were shooting 2miles. I thought you said 1600 yards earlier

Memorize the charts to 1600, you’ll have to do the math for everything else. ;)

I see. That does change the parameters a bit. And like I said, I have never made a carrier out of anything military wise. I’m just a guy with lots of guns, and way more ammo than any one particular individual should own.

Allegedly
