Torro XL training log. Post surgery

IMG_0224.JPG Hi. I'm Torro XL. 9 weeks ago I had a major surgery to repair my C4-7 vertebrae. I had 2 titanium discs replace the 2 I destroyed over the course of 15 years of training.

Anyway, I'm 38 years old, 5'8 200 lbs. my BF is currently at 13%. I've been training for the past 15 years. I've been supplementing for the last 2 years however, I researched PEDS for close to 10 years before making my decision to train enhanced.

Over the course of the last 2 months my physique has changed dramatically IMO. Lack of PCT, poor diet, mild to moderate depression and absolutely no training of any kind has made it damn near impossible for me to keep any gains I made over the last 2 years since I began supplementing. I feel as if I'm back to square 1.

Due to the fact I built a SOLID foundation as a natty for over a decade, I still have a solid frame, a 4 pack, brute strength and a pretty damn good idea how to train. My goal at this particular juncture would be a "recomp"... This is something new to me.

So... I'm starting off slow. I'm gonna train about 3 days a week for the first month or so. This will afford me an opportunity to prime the Bull. So I can't lie, this first month of the log will be slow and kinda boring. However, I'm easily amused so if anyone wants to drop by my thread with dick and fart jokes please feel free:)

Obvi there are certain things the bull won't be doing anytime soon such as deadlifts and shrugs. Over the course of the next few weeks I'll determine more of what I can and can't do.

As you all know when it's go time I'm all in. I'll give this transformation everything I got. I don't know everything so I encourage anyone with a nugget of knowledge or information to drop some heat on me... I'm very self conscious about my physique rite now, but I'm gonna post a picture anyway just so we can really see this transformation take place.IMG_0223.JPG

You got this brother. Just gonna take some tweaking of your old splits. Gonna have to lift smarter instead of heavy as fuck!

I have permenant nerve damage from the incision. It severed many nerves and I have a limited ROM with my left arm.image.jpg

I got the ok to lift light at the 10 week mark. So I'm gonna incorporate light time under tension into my new routines. Feels good to be back!

Hell i know it does brotha.

Ty brutha! Stay tuned for sure. I'd prefer to bend bars with you guys but I gotta settle for aesthetics:(

Just gotta work with what you can, just make sure you're the most beautiful mothafucker you can be lmao

A true warrior!!!! One thing I'd suggest on the back (even if you start slow) is hyperextensions. Even if all you can do is move a few inches at the bottom and not a full extension it's a start. I don't know if your body will allow you this yet, but the few times I've tweaked my back I did this to help rehab it. I slowly tried working on more range of motion each week.

I'll be watching your progress , best of luck!!!

Big fan of the extension and will certainly be incorporating it into just about all my routines. I also keep an ab wheel in my trunk. Thanks for chiming in Demon. Stay tuned brutha. I won't let you down. By the way, I'm running LGD as a primer and a test base. I'll give you feedback on the LGD...

Overhead dumbbell shrugs are a good replacement for shrugs. Farmers carry is also good for working on stabilizing muscles. When my back is acting up I always go back to those until it feels better. The range of motion will definitely come back in your shoulder. You should be doing stretches daily to get everything loose again. You should see a good physical therapist that specializes in sports rehabilitation. They will show you a bunch of good stretches and ways to work around your injury

Stretching and warming up properly will be a permenant staple in my training from now on. It shoulda been years ago. Prolly wouldn't have fucked my shit off...

Unfortunately people like us have to learn the hard way lol

Good to have ya back man!! Hope you a speedy recovery brother :)

You'll get back everything and then some keep your chin up. Im bout to go under the knife myself so this will be good to follow to see how you snap back.

I've had 2 more light training sessions since I started this thread. I'm finding out what I can and can't do for now. Overhead press seems to be an issue. It's also the lift I was doing when I fucked my shit up. Front raises and laterals were no problem. Pumping up nice too. Tomorrow is big back. Really gonna concentrate on my time under tension as well as contractions. For example, a seated row I pretend I have a grapefruit in between my shoulder blades and squeeze the motherfucker and hold it for a few seconds. Same goes for bent rows and lat pull down. Rep scheme will vary between 8-16 reps and time in between sets will vary as well. These first few weeks are basically a primer for me. I will have a good idea on what I can and can't do. I'm still a little undecided on the rest of the gear I'll be running. However, next week I will be adding tren e. It's been a while since I ran tren and I'm looking forward to it. So far so good in The Bulls comeback...
