Would you listen to a trainer that looked like he/she didn't work out?

Bro the trainers at my gym are a fucking joke!
I ask myself this every day.

Same. I see them doing the same bullshit exercises with the same people every week. Trx workout, step ups with 10lb dumbbells, that kinda shit.



I guess thats what people want though...go workout for an hour a couple times a week but not so that they have to put any real effort in.

Yeah my gym is like a rehab spot threw our local hospital. So I see a bunch of dumb shit.
I mean I'd say most people are paying for the motivation not the actual workouts but if you gunna pay money, why not pay someone who is fucking jacked and actually gets you results.
 
Yeah, I've seen some yoked ass trainers at Golds that would talk aas with me. Some of them never even heard of a pct. Just doing oral only cycles. I've tried to educate them and they'd be like "fuck a pct. I don't need no pct", lol. Just because you personally haven't seen it, but there are guys out there that know their shit even though they don't apply it. Imagine if you've studied this shit for a few decades. You've got 20 guys at any given time that your working with for aas and strength and conditioning. Now, imaging your a fat ass for whatever reason. Maybe you were in great shape. An athlete at one point, but due to an injury or whatever, you've gone off the deep end physically. There are just those guys out there that know their shit. But, I would tend to wanna trust a guy that practices what he preaches over someone that doesn't. But I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't keep your options open. As for myself, I may have never been a professional fighter for my own reasons, I do work with them. I do train them. Some of them don't put 100% trust in me, yet they always find out later they should have. Example. Some fighters are stuck on the whole "weights make you bulky and slower". This is the mentality that is hardest to break. But when I do... they literally fall in love with me for it. Hard to break a guy that grew up in a classic gym of his negative attributes. To that I say, forget everything you've ever been taught. Listen to me and I'll make you great.... I'll make you great.
 
I'm on my 3rd PT at Gold's over the 3-4 years I've been a member.

My current PT lifts, he's 20 years younger than me, a tad shorter, about the same weight, and we use similar weights. He benches more, but I have stronger legs.

Anyway, I find that I get a lot out of our weekly sessions. Sometimes twice per week. There's something about having a PT that makes you (me anyway) give that extra 10% - the extra that really drains you, and has you feeling it for the next couple of days.

If you find a good PT, recommended!

Also, I think I'm a "good" client in that I always go all out - my PT says no other client of his comes close in intensity, and I'm the one who's made the most progress. Kinda related of course. Anyway, clearly a good PT enjoys having a client that follows directions. Don't we all like those clients?

I think it boils down to experience....if hes an old dude that has been in the life longer then ive been alive and has done everything he's talkin about id listen to him over some young guy that looks the part but hasnt dun half the shit he's talkin about
