And half repping people piss me off!!! There is this dude at my gym that half reps everything. Squats, bench, I just wanna yell at him and tell him, ALL THE WAY DOWN!!!!

I would love to have everyone doing full range of motion while working out at the gym but it would never happen...gyms should have seminars for new members to show them how to properly do compound movements

I would take knowledge over anything else. I don't give a shit what they look like it's what they preach. My best lacrosse never played pro lacrosse but he loved the sport and even though he hand bricks for hands and was incredibly overweight he knew every drill needed to better your skill and how to tweak movements to make them better, he couldn't do it himself but he could teach it and he knew how to read the game and make the plays to compensate.

Does this directly translate to the gym? Not 100% but I'll take this man

I remember bcal in school the best football coaches had a ton of extra weight. and they always wore shorts in the winter....

Shieko can't be beat. that guy is the real deal.

There are a bunch of trainers at my new gym that look like they have never worked out in their life. would you listen to somebody that can't even follow their own advice?

The average gym trainer, I would never take advice from. Most gym certs are about building a rapport with clients and anyone can get them.

Now a trainer with a degree in kinesiology I might listen too.

I call bullshit to everyone saying they would listen to a fat trainer. Thats like listening to a noob who never ran AAS, and listening to him about AAS advice??? Its the same shit with a trainer.

That is me. I have a kinesiology degree and going to get my certificates for training.

Then you are ignorant. It's not about how they look it's what they know or have experienced whether it's first hand or not doesn't matter if they learned from it. I don't care about certs or formal education or any of that shit because it really doesn't mean anything unless it's applied. A university degree in kinesiology is cool but I doubt it would give you a leg up to anyone who is truly passionate about this life.

so you would listen to someone about AAS even if they never taken any?

I hope am passionate enough to fulfill my goal of physical therapy. Also this site does have very good info, to an extent.

Also if they are truly passionate I would feel they would exercise, and not be a couch potato.

I listen to whatever dr Jim says and he's never taken any to my knowledge. Yes he's educated but as for having to do something to be knowledgeable on it think that's crap. Also if you look at most great Olympic coaches they usually aren't the top athlete but they are the top analyzers and have a different eye then the athletes and even sometimes just have scientific curiosity and enjoy the expirments in training and you don't neccasarily need to make those experiments on themselves

Being a good gym trainer is just being a good salesman. If you are good at sales then you can get a job training at most commercial gyms easily. The certs are just a formality.

Coaching is a different story entirely. It takes an absurd amount of knowledge and experience to be a good coach, and more often than not when you meet someone like this you could give a fuck less what they look like.

Old saying goes, don't listen to the athlete, listen to the athletes coach.

Rodger that hit the nail on the head, I'd also add the biggest guy at your gym might very well be perminatly damaging his body or risking his health. Not all advice is good advice.
Boston loyde is pretty shredded but I wouldn't take advice from him.
None of us have any idea what dr Jim looks like and people seek knowledge from him every day.

I'd dare say that lots of experienced endocrinologists have never been on AAS nor lifted much beyond basic fitness. Yet they'd be quite helpful in figuring out how to optimize an AAS regimen.

Heres another question. How come trainers have their clients do the most retarded shit? Dont they feel guilty about lining their pockets while having their clients do completely ineffective workouts that they never see any reaults from?
