Training Schedule

Hi, my name is Zach I am 18 years old 5'9'' 155 lbs.
Before I start, I have no interest to begin AAS.
I wanted to start lifting and thought the people in this discussion board would have the best information for me.
I am making this post to ask about how often you exercise a certain bodypart a week. Like mon-back tues-triceps/shoulders etc.
Can anyone share their routine or help me make one?
I have recently bought a bench w/ preacher curl, leg extension and free weights.
Sorry if this is a weird question, I am new to working out.

My training routine is,.
Monday: Chest & back
Tuesday: Biceps & Triceps
Wednesday: Shoulder, calves
Thursday: Glutes, Abs
Friday: Rest
And Repeat again,.

I usually do, Chest and back
Bi's and Tri's
Shoulders
Legs/ Abs /any weak points

As to keeping to a set schedule, my work schedule doesn't allow it.
When I can I'll hit body parts twice a week if my joints allow it.

Mon/ tues/ thurs/ Friday .......might work for you.

I do a full body workout Monday Wednesday Friday. I follow the HST program that has predetermined Sets, reps, and weight progression. I think for someone who is just starting out a basic full body work out 3 days a week is probably the best route to go. Another good workout for beginners is the 5x5 routine. The 5x5 not only gives you Sets, reps, and weight progression but it also tells you what lifts to do when.

With your age and stats i would suggest a 5x5 program and a good diet for putting on mass . Google 5x5 use the one with 4 basic lifts . squat , bench ,overhead press and deadlift . Do it as it is written and you will grow and get stronger . if you do it , keep doing for a while . gains dont come overnight . Once you put on size worry about working a certain body part

Monday 2x day masterbate
Tuesday 2x day masterbate and chest and triceps
Wednesday 2x masterbate and biceps
Thursday 2x masterbate
Friday 2x masterbate and chest and triceps

Saturday 4x masterbate
Sunday 4x masterbate

I agree with what others are saying at your age you should stick to the basics. The big lifts like squats, deadlifts, overhead presses and bench. I competed in powerlifting when I was your age and I am 5'8 weighed 190 at that time. The hardest part was to keep me from doing all kinds of other exercises too. I just wanted to lift and lift often but I think if I followed a better protocol with rest days and focused on food intake more I would have been a monster. Well 5'8 monster...lol Basic lifts, eat like crazy, rest and repeat.

Well done for asking man, it's important to get as much info as you can when starting out. You're going to get many opinions on this. Listen to them all, read a lot and get in the gym and see what works and what you like. I agree if you train hard and eat well you will get great benefits. My biggest tip, don't get too caught up in how much weight you lift until you're technique is right. If you learn how to train correctly early on, you will benefit in years to come. Good luck

Dude your small 5"9 155lb I think I was 5"7 140lb at 13 .

You got a long way to go before steroids. Why you a member on a steroid forum?

I agree with Jymis - at your age you should be doing full-body workouts , 3 times a week .
I started out doing split routines at 18 because thats what Muscle & Fitness said to do . But what they failed to say was their routines were for pro-bodybuilders on large amounts on AAS, and it took me years before I was told to do basics 3x/wk.

And 30 years later I'm back to fullbody workouts 3x/wk. It just builds a stronger more complete body . HST training is now the favorite and is also great for beginners . Go to my HST training log here and see what its all about . ~Ogh

Train 6 days a week and eat whatever isnt nailed down, when your new to working out your body will respond to anything. What most would call grossly overtraining packed 36 lbs of muscle on me in my first year

I notice a lot of you guys do back and chest on the same day. I have been doing this for the past few weeks.

I feel as if when I get to back I am thoroughly exhausted and can't hit back as hard as I want. Any suggestions because I like incorporating the two groups on the same day.

Thanks

Back and chest are bigger muscle groups, I typically don't like doing them in the same session..

When it's recommended to train an agonist and antagonist muscle group together such as Chest and Back, Biceps and Triceps, it's more so set based. I'm a huge fan of that type of training so for instance I'll bang out a set of incline dumbell presses, wait 1 minute and bang out a set of dumbell rows. Same with Bi's and Tri's. A set of dumbell curls for instance then a set of overhead extentions. Great workout.

This is definitely the way to go at this point in your lifting career.. Get to the point where you can move some decent numbers on all your major lifts and you will be in good shape... I just switched back to a 5x5 from a push pull for a change of pace, I love that routine... Stay away from the splits for now IMO...
