Trojan Virus.. Can it get through Norton?

I have Norton Anti-Virus installed and it detected Trojan Virus a couple of times. I have it set to DENY ACCESS. It tells me when it detects it and that it denied access. My question is can it still get through to my computer?
I ask this because I have a problem using Explorer now, along with these unbearable popup windows that I didnt have before.
Also, I had 40+ AdWare files that Norton deleted.
I cant use Explorer at all.. it always closes with an error message.
Any ideas?

One more thing, this popup window keeps telling me I have tracking software installed in my computer. Is this a gimick or is it correct? Any way to actually find out without clicking on some ad?

read the thread I started called computer question. I think it was in that thread where NEU recommended two programs. Google toolbar which stops popups and adaware. I ran the adaware and it deleted 391 files the first time.

Hey thick, I downloaded the Google tool bar, but it installed it in Explorer. I cant use Explorer because it keeps shutting down.
How do I install it in Netscape?

Also, that link the the Ad-Ware site, is that to install Ad-Ware? What is Ad-Ware? Norton found it as a virus and I deleted the files.

I guess Im a bit green with this computer stuff.

first question- I have no idea about. As for adaware, i just know it cleans my cpu and makes it run better. It deletes spyware i believe. My cpu guru knowledge is in other fields

I thought Trojans were supposed to prevent virus?

Ha Ha.. not that kind of virus friend!
:D

thick.. appreciate your help bro. Norton found the adware files and said they were viruses. Dont know. Guess I will wait and see if anyone else has an answer.

Has your norton subscription run out? If it has and your scanning for viruses it could miss the new ones because your not running with all the new live updates.
Gotta keep up with new info as it comes out.
peace, freak

adaware is not a virus...install it and run it...sounds like you have some major problems there are online virus scans you can run for free, but using adaware is a good idea...i reformated and did a clean install of windows 2 weeks ago, and adaware delted 66 files with spyware today

My computer is only about a month old and I update Norton often.

My wife just told me that alot of the files AdWare put in the system were found to be either viruses or at risk. Sorry, I was uninformed.

Could this be a conflict between Norton and AdWare? If so, do any of you know a resolution?

One more thing.....HOW THE HELL DO YOU STOP THESE DAMN POPUPS?!?!?!?!?!?!?
