It helps to have friends who are MDs, but my endo started the test, my pcp refills it, I’ll do labs every 3 months per my request.

They spit out $41, $48, $48, $54, $58 at local pharmacies. Also $85 and $200 - ouch
This is what I have always done - I ask the Dr for a paper prescription, put it into Good Rx, and go to the cheapest one that is a reasonable distance from me

Well, it sounds like I cannot do that if I were to go to Defy or somebody like that. They use their own compounding pharmacy, and it is rolled into the price you pay to the clinic?

Use walgreen's rx saving finder to get even better deals. It spits out all of the savings cards instead of just good rx. I paid $26 for my first 10ml vial. Currently at $32.
Yah defy won’t call in prescriptions for you or give you a written one to fill elsewhere unless it’s something they can’t fill.

Right, defy uses empower, so when they charge 159 for a vial of test, they make about 100 off the script.

It’s the price empower charges, it’s their formulary. I get my prices from that list. Defy charges X plus empower price.

Shit good luck finding a pharmacy that honors those prices anymore… even my prescribing doc couldnt find one because now the pharmacies can sa no to a scheduled med and the lower cost… it blows

I am not sure what "anymore" means, but I have never been told no. I print it out, they scan it, and that is the charge.
Is this something you have been told that they "can" do, or something that has happened to you personally? You show up, hand it to the pharmacist listed on GoodRx, and the pharmacist says, "Hell, no, you poor. Get the F__ out of my pharmacy or I am calling the cops."

Hmmm . . . compounding pharmacies are more rare around here than I would have thought.
I guess they are mostly in big cities.
Here is another Empower product and price list. I took this picture while sitting in my doc’s office back in 2022 so prices may be a bit different now.
FYI.. good luck getting a pharmacy to use a goodrx card for something like testosterone. A while back my pharmacy handed me four 1ml vials and wanted $10. I gave them right back to them and told them, no I pick up a 10ml vial and pay $10. They proceeded to tell me it was an insurance thing and that my insurance only wanted to cover it with four 1ml vials. Made no sense since the insurance company and myself pay more for 1ml vials rather than the 10ml. Anywho, I told them, well screw insurance and let’s not use my insurance and I’ll just pay with a goodrx. They told me they don’t allow discount cards for narcotics. Maybe it was just that pharmacy’s policy (Walgreens)?

Thanks to both of you for posting the lists. Defy definitely getting a big cut.
And Empower doesn't test their non-sterile products for strength. Just depends on suppliers' COA. Definitely won't use them again.
I've gotten a number of capsules from them and they don't have any in house testing for QC.
