Trump Timeline ... Trumpocalypse

On Thursday, a grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia charged Paul Manafort and Richard Gates on a total of 32 counts related to bank fraud, tax fraud, and failure to report foreign bank accounts. The special counsel also released a status report on the case.

Former Trump campaign official Rick Gates has fired his lawyer, The Daily Beast has learned. And, contrary to recent media reports, Gates is not about to make a deal with the Special Counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources familiar with the matter.

CNN and The Los Angeles Times reported earlier this month that Gates was on the cusp of signing a plea deal with Mueller’s team, and noted that Gates’ lawyer—Tom Green of Sidley Austin—is known for his work negotiating such pleas. If Gates had started cooperating with Mueller, it would certainly have been a boon to the prosecution.

Instead, Gates—for the time being, at least—isn’t flipping. And Green is out, replaced with Barry Pollack, of Miller Chevalier, according to sources familiar with the matter. Neither Green nor Pollack immediately returned a request for comment.

ST. LOUIS • Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens was indicted and taken into custody Thursday for felony invasion of privacy, St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly M. Gardner's office announced Thursday afternoon.

About 3:45 p.m., on the first floor of the Carnahan Courthouse in downtown St. Louis, a Post-Dispatch reporter saw Greitens being led down a hallway by several St. Louis city deputies.

Officials later confirmed Greitens was taken into custody and then booked at the St. Louis Justice Center.

Gardner's statement said a grand jury found probable cause to believe Greitens violated a Missouri statute that makes it a felony if a person transmits the image contained in the photograph or film in a manner that allows access to that image via a computer.

The indictment apparently stems from allegations made in media reports last month that, during the course of an extramarital affair, he took a photograph of his bound and partially nude lover and threatened to publicize it if she exposed the affair.

Greitens has admitted the affair but has denied the alleged threat.

The charges claim for the first time that Greitens actually transmitted imagery in connection with the allegations.

What's your solution?

Gun licenses only to those over the age of 18 without criminal records, who are demonstrably not mentally ill (state approved psychiatrist to analyze at the expense of license requestor) or known substance abusers, who can prove competence with firearm safety after taking a specific gun safety course and have no criminal record.
- Shooting sports license that permits transporting only of unloaded single round firearms and firing them in designated shooting ranges.
- Hunting license (transport unloaded) only for single round hunting rifles
- Concealed carry license that permits a person to carry a loaded semiautomatic handgun in public, only if able to prove a "valid reason" to do so (e.g.: a security guard or a jeweler at risk of robbery).
- Firearms for hunting and sport to be kept at home in a safe cabinet separated from rounds
- The number of firearms an individual may own and retain in their home limited to three common handguns, three specific sporting handguns or rifles, three hunting rifles
(These limits may be exceeded with a collector license.)

Private firearms to be registered at the local police department within 48 hours of purchase.
Ammunition purchases also to be registered, and possession limited to 200 rounds of handgun ammunition and 1500 rounds of hunting ammunition.

Schools may hire private security guards at local taxpayers expense post budget approval

All other firearms banned and existing to be returned for destruction, tax credit give for each one

Utopia, I know

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Longstanding friction between U.S. President Donald Trump and two top aides, the National Security Adviser and the Chief of Staff, has grown to a point that either or both might quit soon, four senior administration officials said.

Both H.R. McMaster and John Kelly are military men considered by U.S. political observers as moderating influences on the president by imposing a routine on the White House. They have also convinced Trump of the importance of international alliances, particularly NATO, which he has criticized as not equally sharing its burdens with the United States.

However, all the officials were quick to add that the tensions could blow over, at least for now, as have previous episodes of discord between the president and other top officials who have fallen out of favor, including Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Asked about sources saying that either National Security Adviser McMaster or Chief of Staff Kelly, or both, might be leaving, White House spokesman Raj Shah on Thursday did not address the possibility. He said, “the president has full confidence in each member of the team.” Press secretary Sarah Sanders said on Tuesday that Trump “still has confidence in General McMaster.”

Neither Kelly nor McMaster responded to requests for comment on whether they would remain in the administration.
