How many nations in world history have relied on the loans of foreign nations to finance their existence more than the United States? Zero. It has never happened before.
This nation is going to see some very hard economic times soon, and our creditors are going to be very upset when they are paid pennies on the dollar for their investments.
China has quadrupled its defense budget in the last 5 years. I wonder why?
I meant that historically a country with a significant military tends to use it when its economy goes to shit. Many economists even believe (wrongly) that war is good for an economy.
Economically, many many governments have relied on booty from other nations to finance their excesses. The result is invariably an early illusion of increased wealth followed by a sharp crash (and very often new wars). I don't see why borrowing (selling treasuries, printing FRNs) will end differently than conquest. The result is the same w.r.t. a monetary expansion without the accompanying capital formation.
Years ago I had expected China to turn out much like Japan which has never really risen out of the collapse it experienced in the 80's. But I see China expanding into other parts of Asia, making trade deals that do not involve (or explicitly exclude) the US. I half believe this has much to do with the present and planned attempts of the US to surround China with nukes and other military assets under the guise of defense against North Korea.

The USA can obliterate China 300 times over. They will not start a war with us. They will just watch as we slip into economic oblivion. Then they will project their military and economic prowess to dominate the world.
It will not be easy for China either because of the investments they have in the USA, and the markets here that will be destroyed, but they will be in a much better position than we will be, and they will be the newest super power.
Not sure what you mean. China buys US Treasuries (or used to). They also ship their goods to the US in exchange for (soon to be) worthless FRNs. Even their workers are directly, err, leased to the crony corporations from the US.
Odds are good you will hear US war drums against China long before that happens. That is, if the US doesn't provoke Russia before then.

As a result, Hillary Clinton's campaign bus is being investigated after police in Lawrenceville, Georgia, received multiple reports of Hillary’s “Forward Together” tour bus illegally dumped human waste into a storm drain along Grayson Highway on Tuesday morning.

When police arrived at the scene, they were greeted with a foul odor and remnants of used toilet paper scattered across the ground. What the campaign dumped at the scene was so disgusting that a HAZMAT team was called to come in to clean up the mess.
In addition to the local police, the Gwinnett County Stormwater Management and the State Environment Protection Department are participating in the investigation. CBS46 asked the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the party organization working in tandem with the campaign to get Hillary elected, prompting an apology by the DNC.
Adding to the embarrassment Gwinnett County Storm Water is now involved in the investigation as well as the State Environment Protection Department.

This was an honest mistake and we apologize to the Lawrenceville community for any harm we may have caused. We were unaware of any possible violations and have already taken corrective action with the charter bus company to prevent this from happening again. Two days before the Obama administration formally accused the Russian government of hacking Democrats, NYTimes reports that a man identified as a "Russian hacker suspected of pursuing targets in the United States" was arrested in the Czech Republic. While the arrest was made on Oct 5th, officials stated that "we postponed the announcement for tactical reasons," which makes one wonder whether this is the debate-day-distraction Hillary needs?
The United States director of national intelligence, James R. Clapper Jr., said in a statement on Oct. 7 that high-level Russian officials were trying to interfere with American elections.
But, as The New York Times reports, a "russian hacker" was arrested two days before this... and the announcement delayed until today... Debate Day!?
Czech police said the suspect was traveling in the Czech Republic with his girlfriend and had a luxury car. Upon arrest, the man collapsed and was hospitalized, officials said.
