What John Kerry calls the "Mess in Iraq"

"No WMD found, doesnt seem to trouble the NeoCons, because that was never the purpose for pre-emptive invasion. Bremer serves masters that talk benevolence while imposing an interim constitution, written to transform Mesopotamia into a "GI friendly" Saigon, but will result in an Islamic Ho Chi Minh City."

Greyowl, why don't you enlighten us; what is the true motive for invading Iraq?

What's the point of your question? To sidetrack the discussion into a debate over my answer, so that you can avoid admitting that Bush lied to the American public when he told them the U.S. needed to conquer Iraq to protect America's security?

Actually I am far from a sheeple. I keep forgetting that you believe what hollywood, actors, and politicians (such as Arnold) stand for. They are all liars and no Bush DOES NOT have control over the media. Get a clue. The media go out of their way to bash bush. The media are democrats and they follow democratic lines with their biased journalism.

Throwing unfounded accusations will not change the fact that you are clueless when it comes to who controls the media.

So if Hollywood, Actors and politicians are liars, what does that make Bush?

You do not know me well enough to tell me I believe hollywood or politicians bs. If you did know me that well you would realize what an ass you just made of yourself.

You really think that is a lie? At this point in time Iraq is not a huge threat to our security. Not b/c they dont want to be. Anyone who can say with a straight face that Iraq wouldnt be a threat to our security in the immediate future is fucking too stoned to smile. We struck b4 them fucknuts could figure out how to wipe us out.

But that's not what you were told when the Bush league invaded Iraq. Bush and Powell and Blair told you specifically and unmistakably that Iraq needed to be invaded immediately a.s.a.p. because it had WMDs that were aimed at the U.S., and that any delay would be fatal to American lives.

You fell for that lie, and now you are falling for the lies they are telling you to cover up their first lie.

bush is a fucking liar. he would fall into my politician category asshole. He just doesnt have control of the media like you hallucinate about

they did say that iraq had wmd and I believed them. I still do think they did. If they didnt they were damn close b/c we all know that they were trying. Bush shouldve been more clear that they might have them. If not they will have them by so and so date and we will not allow it. He wouldve got more credibility that way. You are right in that regard

First, let me state that I have no idea whether the information in AirBorne's post is the truth or not...

However, greyowl, I read your link that you posted and it said nothing about the Chaplain being made up or that the statistics were wrong...

You did NOT counter AirBorne in any substanstial way at all. Your only argument was that the Bush Administration reported SOME of the same statistics that the Chaplain reported. So what? Does it surprise you that two government officials might have access to the same statistics?

I agree with your implied point: That just because the Bush Administration spouts a statistic, doesnt mean it is true. Everyone knows that. As a citizen of the United States, we are only as good as the information we are given by the media. However, just because the Bush Administration spouts a statistic, doesnt mean it is untrue either. You have no way of proving it either, with the information that is available to you. So I guess we have a stalemate?

Also, how did the United States "lie" about our reason to go to Iraq? All of our intelligence indicated that Saddam had WMD's, hell even Saddams OWN SCIENTISTS were telling Saddam he had WMD's! It turns out that our intelligence (along with British Intelligence, might I add) were wrong. The United States had to face the embarassment of that fact. We have and still are. However, there was NO EVIDENCE that anyone lied, only evidence that we messed up. I dont know if you follow American politics much, but we have had several top intelligence officials report to Congress, and it is looking like we were wrong about WMD's. Dead wrong. But there was no lie, because the United States ACTUALLY THOUGHT there were WMD's!

Hell if Bush was a liar, why didnt he just plant some WMD's in Iraq and out of nowhere "discover them?" That would have saved the Administration a lot of grief.

P.S. I am not a Bush lover, I actually dislike the guy and I am NOT voting for him. I dont disagree with the war, but I DO disagree with what he has done to the American Constitution. Again, I dont know if you follow American politics, but he basically taking rights away from the citizens in the name of "9/11 Security." It is disgusting.

all I have to say is there are some gullible sob's on this board. The whole reason we are in this mess is because of Bush's disregard of the truth and now ya'll want to believe some more shit of his, UNBELIEVABLE!

If you all do not like the way the country is run, then leave. Or better yet vote in November.

I hate it when comments like this are made. How do you know we didnt vote? Furthermore, why dont you leave your homeland and see how you like it. That is not what America is about. It was founded on liberal ideas yet if we voice any liberal ideas, we are told to leave.

MAKE ME!!!!

I will give you this much, Bush does not control the media, the Institution of the Presidency does. Therefore, since Bush is President, he controls the media.

As for the hallucinating...you and the Republicans wish. You wanna turn this into an internet tough guy name calling breakdown or do you wish to continue debating a controversial issue?

I don't think I said that you did not vote. You implied it. I tend to diagree that America was founded on liberal ideas, maybe a little, but not for the most part. And, yes I have left my homeland to serve my country I know what it's like.

I never implied I didnt vote, I voted.

You did not say leave America to defend it, you said if you didnt like it, leave it. To that, I say, MAKE ME.

As for liberal ideas, what do you call freedom of speech? Freedom of religion? Right not to have your home invaded without due cause? The right to oppose a political parties views? Those are pretty liberal ideas in my opinion.

I just had a daja vu experience. I just thought that I was back in the third grade. Thanks Jarz for the memories. :)

My pleasure my brother, my pleasure. Thanks for the reality check.

:D

See.. the only thing I don't like about voting is the Electoral college.. I live in a republican state (which is how I usually vote) so the fact that I will vote Dem in this election will have no bearing whatsoever... I will still vote..don't get me wrong.. I don't have the right to bitch if I don't vote... I'll vote even though it will mean nothing because of the state.... I really want to see an election where overall majority wins..instead of electoral votes... Now,,that would be something!! ;)

Jarz, youre out of your mind if you believe that crap. Looks at all the survey numbers for members of the media over the past 20 or so years. Roughly 80% of them are strong democrats/liberals and have voted as such. To me, that says 80% of the media has a left-leaning bias. Which is quite evident when one takes a few minutes to watch CNN, CBS, and the other networks.
