Oh and last night dinner. Home made flat pizza with smoked salmon , spinach, sliced tomato, artichoke hearts, pepperoni and lots o cheese.

Thats what always comes first. Understanding. Then learning to apply it in social engagements. Without sounding like a rookie.I can understand it more than I can speak it oddly enough. German can be very difficult because they have a specific word for everything and string words together making them very long.
My girl can speak 4 languages... Damn show off. Very little accent though, most guess she's from the Midwest.

Europeans are way more seasoned than us Americans. It is not uncommon to find them learning and mastering multiple languages. We must be doing some thing wrong here in the US
