Who here smokes weed?

I tried CBD for sleep and got nothing. OTC doses are ridiculously low compared to clinical trial doses. It might work but studies are in the 100s of mgs, sometimes up to 1000 mg.

Never tried d8.
CBD isn't worth it unless you can mega dose it.

I take a gram every morning and night, and it's great, but it's absolutely not worth buying OTC at stores for the markup and low dosage.

I just pop it into high polyphenol olive oil and go.

I stack it with 250mg CBN at night and 200mg CBC+ 500mg CBG during the day.

The whole stack is great for your skin (helps my eczema a ton), neuroprotective, cardio protective, excellent for restorative sleep (unlike THC) mood boosting, pain relieving, wakefulness promoting with the the daytime stack, etc. the benefits are plentiful.

However, I also get all of my cannabinoids for essentially nothing other than barely cutting into profit margin, less than a percent of a percent in our overall volume. Idk if I would spend the money on CBC and CBG at least if I was paying full price. They're amazing for what they do, but they're expensive to run right.

CBD and CBN isolate are cheap enough it wouldn't bug me to pay for them though. You can get 100 grams of CBD isolate for like 50 bucks or less.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. I forgot who I was talking with for a moment, @Burntoutn3rd.

I make edibles occasionally and they're OK for sleep, for me. THC and me never really got along very well.

I prefer precise dosing and the dispensary reports % THC & CBD (reliability unknown) and use a scale to measure but who knows. (well, you, probably)

I've gone through cycles of use over the decades. I realize it's an unpopular view, but when you stick to serious science, there's no question that regular use is harmful to health. and the supposed benefits are really based on some shaky evidence.

With regular, heavy use, the impact on the brain is pretty scary. Degeneration of white matter is clearly detectable in hardcore potheads. How recoverable this is depends on a number of factors. The younger one starts using regularly the worse the impact is, with some impact seemingly permanent.

Use long and heavy enough, and unlike intermittent users who's brain impairment returns to baseline after a while, neuroadaptation means cognitive function further DECREASES after abstaining, which explains why some insist pot use makes them perform better, because the brain has become so adapted to THC exposure it malfunctions without it.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not against legalization, but pretending it's all unicorns and rainbows is a pretty dangerous message imo. I'm sure most of us have known someone who's "fried", even long after they stopped.

screw weed. It fucks productivity which i already am in dire need of. Unless there are drugs to boost productivity(beside the good old coffee) i'm gonna pass on weed. Tried it, didn't like it, stopped. To each their own.

Modafinil / Armodafinil is like anti-weed. It's what you wish caffeine was.

I enjoy 1 hit before bed. I have issues falling asleep, and this allows me to sleep. I actually hate the feeling, even if I use slightly too much my heart starts racing and I get paranoid. I just have to make it 5 mins and I’m sleeping.
This is exactly my experience until I got this weed off my buddy that doesn't give me anxiety or the urge to get through my girls phone lol. Its really quite pleasant and I see the appeal now.

This actually sounds effective. So now I’m to the point where I no longer want to alter my sobriety in and way whatsoever but I know 100% that I highly benefit from something cannabis related. CBD or something just reduces inflammation significantly in my body and makes my skin and digestive tract better. So I would love to isolate what is doing the good things in me so I can eliminate the rest.

What do you recommend for me? Or how do you recommend I start and with what. Like I said, I just want those benefits above with a completely clear head and clean urine.

I’m a business owner that hasn’t worked a winter in 6 years. This year I’m entering the workforce again part time over winter so I may get tested. Thoughts?

Even if CBD reduces painful inflammation, it does nothing to address the underlying cause.

I'd consider seeing a Rheumatologist. There are effective treatments that will not only reduce inflammation, but slow the destruction of your joints. for instance, while CBD at best, will only mask it.

There are very effective Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) available.

The hormone imbalances you experienced (mostly for men) caused by pot are also induced by CBD, since they're both endocannabanoid receptor agonists. CBD estrogen boosting properties are strong enough it reduces symptoms in estrogen deficient and post-menapausal women.

Don't be romanced by the "natural" aspect. A chemical is a chemical whether manufactured in a plant or a lab.

At night, 2-3x/week, typically sativa or sativa heavy hybrid, makes for a good roll for me. Hubby uses it every night, I kind of wish he’d cut back, but to each their own. Packs a nice punch for me. I used to use it periodically before cleaning house or light athletic endeavors; while it did make me feel ‘nice’ I didn’t like the feeling of not firing on all cylinders.

During covid I grew some (legal for personal use where I lived) and it turned out I was pretty good at it, ended up with waaaay too much, trimming was a bitch, the smell made me gag, and gave me made respect for those in the business.

Interestingly, when I started on a glp-1 a few months ago, my interest in MJ dropped to zero, same with alcohol. I wasn’t a heavy drinker or anything, but now I can’t even look at the stuff.

I’m sensitive to stims. I tried half of one a freind gave me
, 100 mg per half? I have a bunch of packs of them but I’ll never touch it again, “legal meth” It was a nightmare, I took it at 8am like instructed and still couldn’t sleep that night. I don’t know how anyone uses that and recovers well, I’m not a military special forces guy who needs to be up for 48-72 hrs no sleep nazi germany style, mabe it would be good it a cut if some could handle it.

A 1/2 dose of Modafinil, 100mg, is the equivalent strength of 300mg caffeine, one grande coffee.

What other stimulants are you comparing this to? Because in my experience, it's so subtle most people don't even notice it and aren't sure it's working.

I am pretty obsessed with my training and fitness these days, so breathing in smoke from a combustible is not really in the cards for me anymore.

I'll tell you guys a crazy story, with all the "rainbows and unicorns" tales out there about pot being a cure all at volume 11, and the much more substantiated harms on mute.

Over the course of several years, my thumbnails started "squaring off". Top flat, sides pulling in. I figured I had somehow injured them, or it was aging.

Anyway, getting ready for a physical, I decided to look it up, in case I should ask for a referral to a dermatologist for a fix.

It's called "Fingernail clubbing", and the most common causes are lung cancer(!), a failing heart, or failing liver!

Docs are supposed to start diagnostics on all these things immediately to figure out the cause.

Long story short, it was none of these.

After seeing a number of specialists, one top guy who was on the ball with the latest research, determined it was from past, regular pot use. It causes some kind of localized, boosted growth factor in fingertips, changing the nail bed in a way that makes nails grow so fast and vigorously they end up clubbing like that.

Luckily this is a benign (but irreversible) condition, but imagine all the other effects it can potentially have on other, unseen parts of your body.

It's rare, but even common things like "Pothead man boob syndrome" gyno from the estrogen boost don't seem to be talked about much.
