Lower quad game is thick and strong man
I was supersetting narrow footed leg presses and BW lunges this mornin. Im blessed with outstanding flexibility so i can bottom out the legsled for more ROM. High rep narrow presses for the tear drop at only 450 lbs. And a true superset with BW lunges. Then capped it off with lightweight leg ext done full ROM till i couldnt then half reps till i couldnt. Then bodyweight jump lunges for explosive strength.

OMG. Some body get me my damn wheel chair.

^^^this workout crippled me last week for about 6 days. And immediately post wo i was having terrible leg cramps etc. Today i revisited the same workout. 5 or 6 days later and did the same except added 50 lbs on 2 exercises for the same reps. Then performed paused back squats with 405 for doubles. 3 second pauses each rep. Also added standing leg curls and heavy leg extensions.

So what crippled me last week didnt phase me this week. Plus i added 6 more sets, 2 more exercises and 50lbs to 2 exercises.

Had that pure mind explosion anabolic moment when i reviewed my wo journal. Now thats progress!!!

Here’s my promised check in for my family here.. I see everyone killing it.. good luck to all the guys coming in close to war time. I’m right at 207lbs right now and I am in the best form I have ever been in. It’s been unreal the changes I’ve made since the show in October... loving every minute of it!!
Y’all keep killing it!

time to drop the NPP in 4 weeks and bring in mast maybe...

So a little update. I’ll be 6 weeks out this Saturday but way may have a set back literally. Something is wrong with my back it has been for 3 weeks. Can’t train abs or pose hurts to much. Seen a chiropractor for 2 weeks. Getting x Rays as we speak I told them I got a show so just get me to the end. I’ve been doing the heat, the ice, ibuprofen, stretching. I hope it goes away but it’s hasn’t yet.

It's a tough call to back out of prep due to injury or personal problems. I've been there myself. My Dad went into the hospital then required home assistance for a while when I was 2 weeks out from a show. I was the only one available to help him. It was a big show but he was more important and I had to back out.

I did go watch the show, could've beat the guy that won so it sucked. I went back the next year and won the overall anyway. I just used the situation as motivation. Try to remember that all of this is self induced. So if you fall short or have to pull out no one cares but you. Trust me, NO ONE CARES but you.

There is no show, not even a pro card qualifier that you might win that's worth it. If you're good enough to win then eventually you'll win. Being healthy, taking care of yourself and the ones you love and showing up at your best (you can't do that injured) is more important. It's very different than just giving up or failing so don't let that creep into your head if you have to hit the pause button.

I am not the biggest or most shredded but I have made couple years of progress since I have been a member here.

Me from a log I had on here a couple years ago (I think this was already after one cycle):
~5'8" , ~220 lb, ~early 40s.

Me after last years recomp/cut (I think that was after my 3rd cycle):
~5'8" , ~190 lb

Me currently
~5'8" , ~220 lb (current pic from a couple weeks ago the end of my recent bulk cycle -- 4th cycle I believe -- same weight as a few years ago but improved body comp):

Nice work man!

Looking good bro. Where do you think you'll end up at weight in?

Thanks brother! I honestly don’t have a clue. I’ll be on the bubble. I’m ready to go now. Not much left the lose. Maybe a few pounds on my back. I️ kind of think that I’ll be better off to come in as a super. Dry out that night and probably weigh 222ish on stage, but be super dry and conditioned. A lot of super heavys have a hard time coming in peeled. That’s where I’ll have em...

I like it. Good plan. It's definitely not a regular thing to see a super heavy guy big and peeled. You at mid 220's but up in the heavies and shredded would be a tough package for most of those guys to hang with.

It's tough when you're in that "bottom of one class or top of another" situation. I'm in the same boat but I'm about 99% sure that I'll be pulling water enough to sneak into the light heavies then fill back out. I like the idea of heavy weight size with light heavy conditioning. As with you, it's all about coming in freaky peeled at this point.

I'm still trying to come to terms mentally with the 198.25 body weight thing but it'll only be for about 15 minutes the day before the show then back up. :)

I just have to keep reminding myself that the last 2 shows I won I was 203 and 208 and could have been in better condition. It's all just one long mind fuck. LOL.

Maybe we’ll meet up on stage for the overall somewhere down the road! Two old farts showing those 20 year olds how it’s done! Old man muscle! [emoji123]
