You can criticize WHO all you want, it doesn’t make rfk suitable for the role. How about a third option: pick someone who is appropriate and not a total nutter as a quid pro quo for their endorsement during the campaign.

I can’t believe I’m talking about politics on mesorx. Please somebody reset the simulation.

Before you press the rest button: unsuitable, unqualified people being appointed in governmental positions is, unfortunately, a common occurrence.
Not justifying, just stating a fact.
In principle, I agree with you.
In practice, though, it often doesn't happen.
And even when an appointee seems "connected" because of his educational background, for example, it is often the case that bureaucracy or just the way the "democratic" system is set up make the implementation of their proposed legislation changes an impossibility.

Our current government has appointed as foreign secretary someone who has no experience that remotely ties him to the role.
Mind you, all one needs is a second class random law degree in whatever and that easily paves the way to join the political elite.
So, there he was, at the Whitehouse with Keir Starmer, sitting there with the usual retarded look on his face, fully indicative of everything that goes on inside that empty cabeza of his.
Why is he there?
Box ticking, of course.
And this is but one example.
I am sure if you look at the still current administration of yours, you would find similar instances.

There is a lot of space between "hasnt done the job before" and "will make public health policy grounded in conspiracy theories." One of these is much more harmful. But shrug, America is getting what it voted for. If you think everything is so awful that it just needs to be burned down then RFK at HHS is right in line with that objective, we'll just be over here with brooms and buckets hoping the mess we have to clean up this time isn't too terrible.

First, sorry I read too late you had put this thread on unwatch; I would have refrained from answering, so apologies.
So, even acknowledging RFK was given the role as a thank you for supporting his candidacy (whatever one thinks of it, but hardly an unheard of occurrence, alas), you still seriously think that he will be allowed to do anything that steers away too much from orthodoxy?
Come on. You are smarter than that.

Like all the lobbying that always goes on behind the scenes (from corporations and private companies) is not the thing that really influences legislation, anyway.
I am more concerned with that, than this guy's doing anything that may "ruin" the health system in the States.
Incompetent, unsuitable, inexperienced people at the helm?
Often just empty figureheads for what goes on behind.

That's what we have here.
All the work that the ministers in the cabinet are totally unsuitable to do is done by the "civil service" below them.
Who are they? Did we vote for them?
Nope.

Maybe you think in the US is different.
But I don't think so.
The people at the front are just small cogs in the machine.

You put this on unwatch (I won'treply to you anymore) and let's reconvene in the New Year, if you like.
I mean, hailing from the European continent, you may want to tell me it is not my business and I should shut up.
Fair enough.
But I am rooting for you guys and I would love to see America do well/better.

Have a good day.

These people aren’t helping anyone or anything not making more than $250,000 a year. Some of y’all have a weirdly distorted view of American politics.

When illegal aliens, the citizens of foreign countries, the ones welcomed with open arms by the current administration, annually give birth to several hundred thousand babies per year, at a cost of $20,000+ each, who pays that cost?

How about the illegals crowding emergency rooms?

It would seem to me, this enormous drain on healthcare resources, facilitated in large part by the HHS, brings into question any dedication to the public health of Americans by the current administration or its supporters.

Or better to ask today if we will make it to January. The current admin or its real boss seem dead set on us not making it to next administration.

Spot on.
But this is not just a Democrats' thing.
The political class in the West, in general, is geared towards inaction and posturing, rather than acting to protect and value their own people and culture.
Nihilism and the destruction of moral values that have, historically, underpinned our society is the only way politics function, in Europe and America.

Politicians in Hungary and Italy trying to stand up for their own citizens are immediately condemned and silenced.
Nobody will ever be able to effect any meaningful change to address the disasters destroying their countries and the grievances of their own people.
Democracy seems to me solely set up to maintain and implement liberal elite agenda, regardless of the consequences.
