I respectfully disagree. Initially it will be status quo because members like you and I know how we feel about the credibility of other current members. But as new members join it will be harder to "track" them. It will be a constant sifting through process for anyone not on the board frequently.

Perhaps this process will be beneficial as it will require each user to research more deeply before making decisions. If you're not only having to research the credibility of the lab but of the user reports, it seems you would stand a good chance to learn a lot. A rank doesn't tell you if the user has been given conflicting reports or caught lying before, even a positive negative system can be misrepresentitive of the credibility or knowledge of the user. Just a thought. I'm nobody here so lol

Hmmmm good question, I would say WKM working sources for free gear. I don't have any problem with anyone making money on the side, as long as they're delivering as they promised... it does become harder to hold any private source or member here accountable when sourcing behind the scenes. However, they have a product that people want, some are willing to pay for it, and that's it... exchange of money for goods. There is no malicious intent in my opinion, in most cases at least

I gotta agree with Marcus. The onus is on the guy sourcing behind the scenes to keep his clientele happy at the risk of unwanted attention.

Gear for reviews has the potential to impact more members negatively imo.

I understand where you are coming from. But keep in mind how much time one will be investing by vetting the member they are attempting to quantify the credibility of.

I'm not necessarily lobbing for a ranking system, just a way to keep track of members. Right now we have their screen name and status. With status now being generic, maybe something like their DOB under their screen name? One adds their DOB in their profile when they join anyways.

it's not the sourcing behind the scenes that's a problem. It is them participating as just another member here on meso.
There is a reason sources have to stay in their own threads.
Do I have a problem with them sourcing? No.
Do I have a problem with them acting like regular members? Yeah, cause they have skin in the game now and incentive to persuade people to buy/use gear.

Glad everyone is okay. You are exactly right though. With all of the texting and driving these days I want no part of being in a car off the side of an interstate.

I blew my right front tire about 6 weeks ago on the Interstate. That fucker got changed in about 15 minutes out of fear that some idiot would take me out.

If you don't think texting and driving is an issue try driving a motorcycle near a city. 50% of the time time I'm out something nearly happens and usually they are looking down at their phones. It's honestly to the point I'm considering giving up something I enjoy so much might have to get a GoPro just in case anything does happen... and people think loud pipes is for show *eye roll*

On to the real issue here I don't think it really matters what you do you will always have people who abuse be system and no matter what happens someone won't be happy. I'm OK with whatever happens but like others have pointed out I know who to listen to and who is just spewing BS but maybe not some other members who are newer, etc but what I like about here is I don't feel like these people are targets for cash at least not right in the open like some other sites.

I'm with a lot of guys here in that we know who to listen to and get advice from but we've either been member for some time or spend quite a bit of time frequenting the forum. I know when I first started here i looked for the WKM status to at least get some type of idea if they knew wtf they were talking about compared to taking information from a junior member (which obviously doesn't mean they don't know anything just new to the board). I also like the idea of making WKM harder to get because I know I got it fairly early and still haven't been here but a little over a year.

I was on my Sportster last week and had the pleasure of getting behind some fat hag who was all over the road , as I got closer I noticed she was trying to put on her mascara ...
Ive seen this many times . I just paced her and kept my distance...

I'm pretty sure at some point in my life I must have obeyed at least one law, though not sure if I was on my bike at the time.

Yeah I can't blame someone if I am hauling ass or splitting, etc... I'm talking if I'm just driving to gym or work people are morons. If I'm acting like an idiot and something happens it's on me. I will say it has actually made me more clam driving car now. People not realize the shit you are in if you wreck your car even at 65. Very eye opening but I hear you on that. Its why I stopped riding in groups just a bunch of idiots doing dumb stuff.
