WKM's working sources for free gear behind the scenes

Members deservedly like to be rewarded and recognized for their contributions. The status awards are an attempt to do that but reflect a flawed system. It would be great if MESO had an algorithm that could recognize quality contributions. But it doesn't. As such, the status titles are largely meaningless.

Obviously, the current status titles are being abused to manipulate sources. This is one harm. But their are others too such as newbies relying solely on status to determine expertise and quality of advice.

Given this, is NO status title system better than a flawed one?
Considering the current system rewards post count above anything else I don't even see the purpose of it. By removing the titles members new or old will actually have to do what forums are intended for...reading. Judgements on trust or validity should be based on the postings and content of the member and not titles that are completely meaningless and misleading. If the choice is this current system or removal then I would suggest removal.

No title system is better.

People will get recognized (or wont) for their contributions from other members. This is more rewarding than the automated title system.

That kind of change would do more to encourage quality contributions. Rewarding based on posts/likes will just encourage shit-posting. I also think the current system breeds or at least exacerbates the group-think mentality that can exist on some threads.

Many variables to consider.....and I mean many.
I dont know. Scrub all titles and start from scratch? A system where useful info is rewarded and not sarcastic BS? Something that actually applies to the mission of Meso....

I vote no title system. If a title system is to be left in place then I like the idea of a positive/negative system. The Heros will be recognized and the zeros..........well I guess in this case they'll be negatives lol

I've been here a minute and am not a wkm. I tend to read way more than I post if you exclude the few times I'm so extremely bored at work that I reply to every thread where I think I have sime first hand knowledge and can help.

I do tend to trust the word and advice of a wkm more than anyine else. That was until I saw some wkm's talking out their ass and giving absolutely horrible and potentially harmful advice. I didn't recognize their username, but the wkm status made me think they were older members who had been away from the board for a year or so. After clicking on their username, it turned out so many wkm's joined a month or two ago and just post lots of useless stuff to get the status.

I've seen more intricate systems on other boards that have numerous positive, neutral and negative options rather than just likes. The negative options would be appealing to kind of brand the idiots. With all the feuds and mob mentality I could see that being abused just like the like feature is now though.

Honestly I've been reading meso since October 2016. Joined in January of this year. Looked up to some WKMs and come to find out they have never even run a cycle...

And now I have members I could list that I actually respect reguardless of title.

I vote no title because it can be misleading and it's asking for sources to solicit their products to WKMs for reviews and bloodwork not knowing what their true intentions are. Like getting their foot in the door and turning around and burning people once they have orders flooding in.

I feel just that very possibility would go against what this board is ment for? Harm reduction. If status of a member leads to this then I think it should go.

I'm a member on a raw news site, and they just got rid of the downvote option.

People cry too much. "Raw" people are actually snowflakes, it seems.

Unfortunately it is definitely a double edged sword. New members join and most(not all) will take the word of a wkm over a junior member everyday of the week. Its only recently that I realized some of the newer members are very well informed. And most wkm just instantly write them off. There is no perfect solution to this problem. I know at some point members get heated over certain topics. When a junior member sees a bunch of wkms acting like children how can any of us demand their respect. I know I've been an asshole numerous times but it usually involves steering kids away from AAS. Although the God thread fires me up all the time. I've gotten into it big time with @Dr Scally and @Docd187123. But at the end of the day I respect both of them and they've both helped me out tremendously. I think the status system should go. I know I'm a nobody on this site but good and bad info comes from all members. Myself included. @Millard Baker I honestly don't know how you hold this site together as well as you do. And I apologize for the times I've been a dick to members. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

To start, why not just increase the number of likes/posts/time it takes to become a WKM and see how that works? The current criteria for WKM status is so ridiculously low it's made the title into a joke.

My thought exactly. I said early in this thread I hope whomever mands called out was one of the hundreds of WKM's I had never heard of rather than someone we all actually know.
