Woman - perimenopause is killing my BMI.

I work out/run daily,/eat clean, run bit of var, yohimbine, and armdx. What will help with fat loss at this stage of my life? I track calories and I have gained 9 lbs in the last year. Very frustrated/disappointed. GLP-1?

I think a GLP would be a good addition for your overall health and longevity at this point in your life, and restore metabolic health.

You could also see an endo for hormone replacement therapy to alleviate the other unpleasant symptoms of pm, Of course if you go that route you must be sure to stay on top of your mammograms and be diligent about noticing any new lumps,

I'm of the opinion that women shouldn't go the diy path for HRT. It's more complicated than TRT is for men.

Many thanks for the insights

GLP1 receptor agonists are well tolerated and eliminate or suppress the concept of wanting to eat quite well.

If you are in a location where it is available without a prescription, consider trying ECA - Ephedrine, Caffeine, Aspirin - for appetite suppression. It depends on how you handle it, though if you take Yohimbe already, Ephedrine might be something that is actually less impactful and suppresses appetite quite heavily.

Or consider mitochondrial upregulators.

With bloodwork and a medical doctor to check results, an Estradiol patch or combined Estradiol plus Progesterone might be useful as well, to handle perimenopause more directly, though it would of course have side effects of higher Estradiol. The same bloodwork and visit to a few doctors for Menopause Hormone Therapy might also get you a prescription for GLP1 or similar as well. If the first doctor says no or that they do not understand or prescribe GLP1 agonists, consider the advice given specific to your health. Then also seek another doctor's opinion.

Just looking at fat burning, Vigorous Steve had a roundtable tier list
"FAT BURNER Tier List! Clenbuterol, Ephedrine, SLU-PP-332, GH, Cardarine, Thyroid, DNP & Retatrutide"
They give fuller descriptions earlier, though they rank everything at 2hours20minute mark or so.

Continue advocating for yourself and be healthy!

Would recommend a thyroid panel, tsh, free t4, free t3, iron including ferritin. Hormones should be treated based on symptoms not blood tests, as women’s levels fluctuate constantly during perimenopause. When my dr tried to treat by results, I had shitty side effects.

An endocrinologist will probably suck for all of that and most menopause drs don’t know shit either. Defy Medical and Elevate are two I’m familiar with who treat to optimization, but neither take insurance. MIDI online takes some insurances, but doesn’t rx T and I’m not sure how good they are with thyroid stuff. I started out with MyAlloy online while looking for a competent dr and that was fine for hrt.

As far as weight, I’d have no problem starting a glp1 now while figuring the hormonal stuff out.

Also a perimenopausal woman at 42, started hrt just after turning 40. I feel so much better after starting hrt. You may get more traction on this post if you share it in the women’s section.

Low dose GH should do the trick. However, according to Peter Attia, a study found that high IGF-1 levels in women reduces life span. I could not find this "study" and when I asked AI, it also could not find the study. So unless he has access to something that AI and myself do not he must have misremembered.

After hearing about the lipolysis effects of GH, I took 4iu before bed. Keeping everything the same I went from 25% body fat to 17% in 4 months. (using InBody to measure)

As far as the GLP-1, they are great. But you don't seem to have a problem with food. Sure it will make it easy to starve yourself if that's what your looking for. (yes they have way more benefits than appetite suppression).

I'm a guy, so make sure you check out the women’s section for a ladies perspective and experience.
