How were people voting on who won the debate the day before it occurred?

i dunno, either it is a misprint or the yahoo pollmakers are idiots. i do find it interesting that edwards is leading (as of 1 minute ago) the fox poll.

YEH THATS CUZ THE MEDIA IS LIBERAL...WHAAA...WHAAAAA...WHAAAA..

I wonder what President Elect John F. Kerry thought of his Veeps perfromance tonight ?

There will be no economy if we dont have an national defense, whats the point of one if we're going to let these ass holes kill our citizens.

President Elect? :D To think Kerry has a chance in hell is completly hilarious. Damn when i look at everything they are "for" I believe voting democratic is against my religion...that's a shame!

Once again the nation disagrees with the Meso oppinion...

There are about 1000 or more polls out there each saying whatever you want them to. Instant polls are meaningless. In a couple of days after fact checking and people have had time to digest what was said more meaningfull polls will come out.

I thought kerry one the last debate and Cheny one this one.

Online polls don't represent shit. Especially when the DNC chairmen is sending out email telling supporters to flood those polls.
Of course and this is infact what happened and was reported 5 minutes after the debate...democrats gave out fliers to tell everyone to flood the polls and don't let bush steal this one...whatever.This race won't even be close. Exercise your right to waste your vote...vote democrat :)

A flash poll conducted moments after the debate showed that most Americans believe they will soon have opinions about how well Vice President Dick Cheney did compared with Sen. John Edwards.

The formation of those opinions could require days of intensive listening to commentators from the major news networks and CBS, and countless hours of reading weblogs or even newspapers.

One typical poll respondent said, "I watched last week's presidential debate and I thought Kerry won. But I later found out that I was wrong. How embarrassing. Tonight, I thought Dick Cheney did well, but this time I'm going to wait until I find out what I should think before I go shooting my mouth off."

LOL you guys are telling me that republicans are not going out and telling there supporters to vote at the polls? As for those of you who say "polls dont mean shit" you are mistaken they are all we have, polls are snapshots of what are nation is thinking at one particular time or another. And right now 67% of the nation says Edwards won the debate. LOL denial can be a son of a bitch eh? I guess the nation was watching a diffrent debate then the meso crowd, or maybe the meso opininon will pull it thru for bush. Haha

meso is the most republican bodybuilding board i've ever seen. it's so difficult to keep quiet when you see a ton of right wing bullshit being supported by 90% of the board.

for the record i am a member of the only party that has the interests of the people and the united states as a whole in mind, libertarian.

maybe its 90% republican here because conservatives are the ONLY ones who have common interests and values with the people of the united states as a whole mind......

now im not trying to be abrasive, but what I mean here is that liberals are just plain wrong :D

just my $.02

Hi gents,

I know I said that I am not going to contribute to political threads because we are wasting our breathe. You have the liberals like Quasi and his fellow idiots like SoulPower, OldFucker and SCRedneck who no matter what will vote for Kerry.

I do want to comment on John Edwards and say that guy is slime. At least I can respect Kerry for something. Edwards is an attorney so if that doesn't make him slimy enough, then try being a liberal on top of that. All he could say is "once again Cheney is distorting the truth" What an asshole!

I would have loved to go over there and smash his face into the table and then pull a Dudley Boys move and put his sissy ass through that table.

Have a nice day

That's funny Phreezer because last night Joe Scarborough and Ron Reagan Jr. posted those results on their show and Scarboroughs response was something like:

"I don't know what kind of vodka our viewers are drinking, but we did not watch the same debate".

And yes I know Scarborough was a Republican in congress, but he is fair. He has been critical of Bush/Cheney for a while.

bingo bro. fuck the ratings. fuck the polls. fuck the stats. we all know how the same set of stats can be used to prove or disprove diametrically-opposed arguments... and more importantly, has anyone here heard of the military-industrial complex? it is the economy or, at the very least, a huge part of it. so, to talk about the economy and national defense as if they were mutually exclusive is really kind of unrealistic, isn't it?

Here is what some of the press are saying...

ABC News' Poll Shows 43 percent think Vice President Cheney won debate, only 35 percent think Edwards won. (ABC's "Special Coverage," 10/5/04)
(sorry for the excessive capitalization, folks)

NBC's Tom Brokaw: "Dick Cheney Reminded Me Of George Foreman, Kind Of A Slow Gait, But A Powerful Right-Hand When He Unleashed It In A Number Of Areas As He Went After The Kerry-Edwards Ticket." (NBC's "Special Coverage," 10/5/04)

MSNBC's Ron Reagan: "This Time, I Think The Chattering Classes, And I Include All Of Us Among Them, Will Come Out On The Side Of There Was A Stature Gap There, And It Was To Cheney's Advantage." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/5/04)

MSNBC's Chris Matthews Calls The Debate Between Vice President Cheney The "Howitzer" And Senator John Edwards The "Water Pistol." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/05/04)

MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell: "I Think Dick Cheney Did Awfully Well, At, First Of All, Putting John Edwards In His Place. Saying That I Have Been Presiding Over The Senate, And I Didn't Meet You Until Tonight. Talking About His Not Having Been On The Job Was Pretty Devastating." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/5/04)

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough: "I Tell You, Tonight, No Doubt About It, Edwards Got Obliterated By Dick Cheney. This Is The Most Surprising Part. This Debate Actually Turned In Cheney's Direction When They Started Talking About Domestic Issues. I Thought Cheney Handled The Foreign Policy Issues Very Well." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/5/04)

thought the debate was better then the presidential first debate. i like the format alot better too. i feel that cheney's presence overshadowed edwards. i too would give the edge to cheney on this one. seems like edwards is more like kerry's puppet, but cheney carries himself very well. i also thought ait was funny that they call edwards senator GONE.

I have a question about the polls!

Who on this board has ever been called up to participate in a poll?

How do they get these numbers for the polls?

I do not think the polls mean shit. I am in contact with about 50 - 100 different people on a daily basis, and none of them has ever participated in a poll. I know this because I ask them!

I believe DICK done a good job. Edwards done ok for himself, however, if you really listen to his responses you notice he answers everything with a lawyer answer.

Whats worse than a politician? A politician that used to be a trial lawyer!!
