Favorite video games when you were a kid

I went to a few antique stores with my girlfriend recently and one had an old 80's era arcade machine that got me feeling kind of nostalgic. I don't do much gaming these days, Xbox 360 was the last console I bought and I haven't played it in forever. What were you all playing back in the day?

My dad bought me an arcade machine when I was in grade school, I've still got it actually. A Playchoice 10, although it only ever had five games on it. Mike Tyson's Punchout, Contra, Double Dragon, Wild Gunman and Rad Racer. I've come really close to playing a perfect game on Contra, I've beat it only using one life before back when I was playing it.

Back in the NES days I played Zelda, a little Fester's Quest, Maniac Mansion, obviously Mario 1, 2 and 3. I'm sure I'll think of others as you all reply.

SNES was my favorite of the old systems. So many good games back then. Rock 'N' Roll racing, F Zero, Legend of Zelda, Super Mario World, Street Fighter, Killer Instinct, too many to list.

Looks terrible by today's standards, but I remember how the graphics on the intro to Final Fantasy 3 (now known as 6) blew my young mind. I had it the day it came out. Crazy how much things have changed.

I bought Diablo when I was a kid and it didn't work on my computer, so I never played it. Yeah, no time for video games as an adult with a full-time job and being serious about training. If I bought a game like that now it'd take me a year to beat it.

Yeah I played the hell out of diablo 1 on ps1 and even more of diablo 2 on PC diablo 3 was okay not the best. I've always been a blizzard nerd and if they ever stop making world of Warcraft and actually make Warcraft 4 I will play the shit out of it.

Oh where do I even begin....I guess the first system I had was an old nes or snes maybe but I loved playing Mario bro's and a bunch of other games I can't remember because I was little. But I Remember playing mario with my dad all the time. Got a N64 after that, f-zero x, legend of Zelda ocarina of time, super Mario world, and a horde of other great ones. Then cMe play station, suikoden was my favorite, like final fantasy on crack. Of course I played the final fantasies. The old GTA'S . Etc.

Then we got xbox and ps2 which were fucking game changers I could go on and on but I won't haha. Last one u had was a ps3, loved resident evil, dead space, assassin's creed, madden, and much much much more. Hopefully I will have a second job soon and I will be able to afford a ps4, I miss gaming.

I've never played those, but I'd probably like them. Blizzard made Rock 'N' Roll racing on SNES which I played the hell out of. They made Lost Vikings which I think I may have played a couple times.

I finally just got to play suikoden 2 last year when they put it on the play station store, you would not believe how much a hard copy of that game goes for. Very rare. Excellent game, the first one was the best though.

Yeah F zero x was awsome, I was still pretty little when I had it and it was just fun as hell, I'm sure I was terrible at it then lol. One.of the few racing games I liked

Never played any Pokemon. You'd probably like Fire Emblem on Gameboy.

One of my friends did that jailbreak thing to his Wii and he's got all the emulators and ROMs. I actually had a Wii given to me for free last year and I've been meaning to have him jailbreak it and put that stuff on it, but I never get around to it.

Ah, the mall arcade. I spent like $10 one time beating a Ninja Turtles game. Our mall still has the arcade, I believe, haven't been in it in ages though.
