I need to be able to gain weight

Quick update: I ate 4500 calories today and still ended up 45g short on protein and 60g short on carbs.

It was my wife's and my 5 year dateversary so we had to go to bj's brewhouse where we had our first date. I ate too much and had 3 beers.
 
That's what myfitnesspal calculated for me. I can outline what I ate later. But tonight is dateversary with a little of my fake internet friends. Back to date night.
 
Looks like you're not really doing too bad. I really don't track what I eat too much when bulking up. Tons of protein and I'm not usually too concerned where the rest of my calories come from although I do keep carbs under control somewhat.

I think the reason i haven't grown un the past is because I'm scared to get fat so I limit my carbs. I normally supplement with a couple protein shakes, and normally they're 2 scoops. Lately I've been adding the raw eggs in, so only one scoop, plus I've stopped the shakes in between meals.

I know now that I'm tracking this stuff, my carbs were always low. I would have never had oatmeal twice in a row before. I'll get it figured out.

My rack of ribs was 1509 calories by itself according to myfitnesspal. That's why calories are crazy today. My damn stomach is protruded way past my chest at the moment. I hate that.
 
Aren't you around 200lbs? If so there's no reason for a 300g+ protein intake. Forget what myfitnesspal says and customize your macro goals to something better. Bulking is a time you need less protein when compared to cutting and you could better make room for carbs.
 
I like to say I'm 193, but that's middle of the day with shoes and clothes on and food in my belly. On the scale yesterday morning I was 187.

Protein is highly satiating. It will fill you up more than the other macros. So if eating your cals is hard bc you're always feeling full, it's another reason to lower protein.

I agrree with doc. My laast bulk I ate 250g protein and 360 carbs 100 fats, and got huge. gained a lot of good weight and muscle. I way 200. I ate 300g protein and got no different results then 250 g.
 
Well, I feel like I've been eating alot more. I track most of my food I eat during my work day, then if I eat something at home that my wife makes, I don't know exactly how to track it, but i eat alot if it. Spaghetti, burgers, hamburger helper, just normal dinners for a family of 5.

I know I'm eating more carbs than I normally do. I add oatmeal to every breakfast, and just generally eat more carb rich foods than I was before.

Stepped on the scale this morning, 186lbs. :sadface: I will admit that I haven't made it to the gym at all this week. Been too sleepy to wake up at 4:15 and also working overtime.
