The lunk alarm?

I admit I was once a member at Planet Fitness as it was a cheap place to work out while I was unemployed. The one nearest my apartment was pretty decent for a PF as it had 2 benches, 2 legpress machines and a single squat rack. Deadlifting was allowed as long as we brought our own crash mats (I made some out of horse stall matting) and kept noise level down (lunk alarm was hardly ever used). The db's went up to 80lbs.

OP - I feel your pain.

Christ, I'd seen the Planet Shitness video but this is way worse. What a disaster, how uninformed do you have to be to think that "gym" is worthwhile? It's a joke.

I go to a 2-storey Gold's where unfortunately the lifting is all upstairs, so serious deadlifting and major DB drops are frowned upon. But controlled deadlifts with some slam and some DB dropping is OK.

No grunts? WTF? How can you go to failure in silence?

And the food.... JC on a bike....

My gym hands out free protein shakes every now and then.

They even bought extra kneepad plates and a multi grip bar when I asked for it.
And it's about $20 per month. :-)
