Happy Holiday Blues?

How many brother's find December the toughest month of the year? Do you always find it a struggle mentally & physically? Single and no kids I can only imagine, what the guys with families deal with and much respect. Just seems the older I get the less festive the spirit.
Dunno might be morphing into a real life "Ebenezer" who likes to blast.

I've never been a big fan of Christmas so I can relate. My struggle is keeping that to myself and not letting it effect my kids experience.

I am not a fan of holidays in general but thanksgiving and Christmas I dislike the most. I try and keep it to myself though my kids and family enjoy the holidays.

Good looking out guy's, its sad not all dad's have that mentality. We know as kids you never forget those special times. Good thing no kids here cuz i can literally sleep through Xmas now

From my experience with dating women with kids and being around their families and my own family I think pretty much all adults hate Christmas. They just do it for the kids.

No kids here though, so just another month to me for the most part. Got most of my Christmas shopping done online, just need to pick up a few cards, a pair of concert tickets and one gift certificate and I'm done. Gonna take the presents to my mom to wrap for me, lol, I can't wrap one without it looking like four year old wrapped it.

Growing up my dad worked 80+ hours a week and got double time on holidays. He'd just take me to the mall or somewhere on some day near Christmas and let me get what I wanted. He wasn't the type to put up a tree and wrap presents. Maybe if he had a girlfriend at the time she might do it.

I could care less about Christmas for myself. But now that I have 2 young boys that has changed. Seeing that excitement, happiness, innocence, it makes me feel good and proud that I can provide that for them. I feel like I look forward to it more now for them.

Yeah, he was. He'd just ask what I wanted, how much was it and where do we get it. This is the first year my mom isn't doing a tree since my little brother moved out this year.

Don't just go Jewish or Muslim though, choose something unusual. I always thought Greek mythology was pretty cool myself.

Im already a black - jew. But Ive always observed the black religion (Baptist for us). I think Im obligated for Judism, but that means 8 days of presents

I need to look up jedi-ism.

December fucking sucks man. Stress. Money flying out the window for wife and kids. And I swear it's even hard to go to work. Hate the holiday traffic. Seeing unwanted family for dinners. Only good I get out of it is seeing my kids happy. Fucking dog knocked over the tree 3 times this week. So I put 3 50lb sand bags on the stand.

Idk, i get chronically depressed through the holidays. Everyone is with their family and friends and shit and it's all over facebook and I'm fuckin all the way across the country from pretty much everyone i know...i mean its like that all year around i guess, but during the holidays when the norm is to be together it really digs in.
