Effect of HGH and peptides on people past their prime

Memento Mori

I cannot but smile every time I see @ironwill1951 post here: “You’re going to get old taking hgh or peptides will not make a lot of difference. There is no fountain of youth.”

Memento Mori (Remember that you have to die). Soo simple and yet unavoidable. The purpose (or lack of thereof, depends of point of view) of life… And then – “You're going to die. I'm going to die. We're all going to die. Just not today” - Lt. Alex Hopper in the movie Battleship.

How one defines “Getting old”? Is it the year we were born? For AARP – definitely. Just a few years ago, my mailbox was full of credit card and refinancing offers (expression of confidence there are still money to be made from my existence.) Today I am attacked by AARP, Term Life insurance and Funeral Advantage Programs. For fuck sake, I got offer to buy a grave space yesterday. I am like – motherfucker, come see me in person and tell me - do I look like someone that needs this right now? And then again… Memento Mori.

When comes to origins of life, I am somewhere in the middle between Evolution and Creationism. I mean, human body is nearly perfect mechanism, a machine in which every piece has a purpose and is irrevocable part of the whole. Random chain of events does not create perfection. Have you read this expression – “It is like if twister passes through a jet planes junk yard and assembles Boing 787 from scattered parts”? But then again, until I see the Creator (here and now, not in alleged afterlife), I have to live with the Evolution theory…

Boys have a penis, girls have a vagina (Joseph, Kindergarten Cop)

That’s about it, in early stages. Later on, we’re thought “man secrets Testosterone, Women – Estrogens). Only “advanced” education explains “regulation mechanisms” – when Testosterone levels circulating in the bloodstream falls under certain level, anterior pituitary will secrete LH and FSH, which in turn stimulates gonads (in testes) to “make” Testosterone. Once T levels reach certain levels, LH and FSH release is suppressed, causing gonads to stop releasing Testosterone.

Now, how beautiful is that?!? I am personally in awe from this simplicity and perfection.

There are countless (scientifically proven) examples of up/down regulation mechanisms and principals our body utilizes. Why the hell we don’t live forever then, we might ask.

Take a Ferrari for example. A perfection in functionality encased in beautiful body. You press the accelerator, more fuel gets in to the cylinders (upregulating the fuel intake), wheels are turning faster, speed increases. Depress the accelerator, less fuel is supplied (downregulation), speed decreases. Again, simple yet genius. But (always but, isn’t it), the combustion (an explosion essentially) causes the cylinders to wear off with the time. A responsible (and knowledgeable) owner would listen for the signs of “tear and wear” and take the car to the shop to restore the functionality as close as possible to the “original design”. The final destination of every car ultimately is the junk yard, just that some gets there earlier than other.

If one accepts the notion that human body is a “mechanism”, why would not the same “restore as close as possible for as long as possible” principal be applied?

@DragoT
just too many people say GHRPs, -relins, GH-RHs actually work BETTER than GH for aging
too much to be coincidental

And studies DO show GHRHs have ADDITIONAL actions outside the GHR receptor
Other functions
GHRH expression has been demonstrated in peripheral cells and tissues outside its main site in the hypothalamus, for example, in the pancreas, epithelial mucosa of the gastrointestinal tract and, pathologically, in tumour cells.

Food for thought and homework.

And yes get PHARMA-grade meds instead

@Eman

I see your point. I should not have used this particular blood work (since Free T was nor shown) and I've made an assumption. Just... seemed like a nice transition to the body fat section I was getting ready to talk about.

So, what you're saying is - 19-nor derivatives (masteron, tren, etc) would show elevated Total and Free T and the same time will be "immune" or better said "resistant" to Estrogen conversion?
Masteron would not be considered in the 19-nor family.

This is the type of conversation I was hopping to invoke :-)

Yes, @master.on, I have always kept such possibility in the back of my mind. The analogy with Ferrari ends right there - both are machine like. The sole purpose of accelerator is to up regulate fuel intake. However, speaking of Testosterone production regulation, while it is well known fact LH and FSH do so, what is not to say that LH and FSH are not having other, equally important role for other bodily functions?

We know exogenous Testosterone administration shuts down secretion of LH and FSH. In another post I've showed a study that proves exogenous HGH administration downregulates GHRH release in similar manner.

You point raises a valid question: What other essential supplementation/functionality we rob the body of by literally shutting down GHRH secretion via exogenous HGH administration?

It is work in a progress for sure...

It's a very interesting subject indeed

You can also research that HCG makes the body make several other good chemicals besides Testosterone
i.e. Pregnenolone

you must have been smoking some good shit when you wrote this.

Ah, HCG… The “mysterious” hormone that makes half of women who pee on a stick in the morning go “Yay, finally!” and the other half – “Oh shit, now what?”

I was planning to talk about it later on, but since you mentioned it…

I said it before already - before I took my first Test C shot, I did a lot of reading. TRT is not something to be taken lightly, there are many intended and/or unintended consequences and serous research is a must. In my home country, we have a saying – “Don’t ask a wise man for advice, ask an experienced one”. So, I’ve lurked on TRT message boards for quite a while, reading, taking notes for follow up on Internet etc.

I am “one-two” guy. This is– “reach down and scratch my balls”. Knowing that exogenous Testosterone will downregulate LH and FSH thus pissing gonads to the extend they will say “fuck you too, we’re going in hiding”, I was pleased to find that HCG actually mimic LH, at least when comes to stimulating gonads. After all, HCG is approved therapy in young boys with underdeveloped nut sack… Bottom line, it prevents elderly man from turning to “one-two-three” (“reach down, search for the balls and then scratch them”.

So, I am like, All right, let see what studies are showing. Googled it and… HCG diet kept popping up on the top of the search list. What the hell… I am curious by nature and so, spent some time on the subject as well.

Here is the place to make a statement – I personally think that 500 calorie diet is not good. While 25% to (in some cases) 35% calorie deficit is acceptable if one must lose weight (fat primarily) will work and it is justified, 75% or more deficit in uncontrolled environment is a bad, bad idea.

What got me fascinated is one anecdotal (or is it) example the proponents of HCG Diet always give:

It is not uncommon to see a picture of African women, looking like just got released from Nazi death camp, literally “bone and skin only” due to severe malnutrition holding perfectly healthy newborn. According the proponents, HCG unlock mysteriously an unknown mechanism that forces the mother’s body to use fat storage only to feed the fetus.

Kind of make sense, isn’t it? Otherwise why would the female body will begin secrete HCG hormone right after the embryo finish its short travel through fallopian tube into the uterus? Just so woman can pee on a stick and shove it in our face? Kind of doubt the Evolution decided to pull a fast one here…

I did mention HCG Diet for a reason. Will come back to it when talk about our (my wife and I) diet and nutrition plan.

@Vita Patience is a virtue :-) Will get to HGH soon (you will be kind of disappointed, thou)

HCG diet is BS
Oral HCG is quickly hydrlyzed (degraded) by stomach acid and enzymes, besides the doses used (a few drops) are too low even if injected.

Now injected HCG + diet can be interesting
Don't forget to add some Aromatase Inhibitor to your HCG

Ahh, oral... Wait, not that one, the "oral HGH, HCG, B12 etc" bullshit. To all who believe "oral hormone administration " have any benefits: PM me, I have some of Saddam Husein nuclear weapons to sell you. Nuff said...

75%-85% calorie deficit diet will make any living thing lose weight regardless. The big question is - how to lose weight from fat storage with little to none lean mass loss.

The post I am working on regarding our Diet and Nutrition plan will be rather lengthily and I want to make sure I do it as clear as possible, so it will be a while (here is the place to ask the readers - when you have a minute, Google "Orthorexia Nervosa" so you will be able to put it in a context later on).

Back to HCG Diet (the real one, 125-150 IU Sub-Q daily). Here is a story... In our town, we have another family from our home country. The lady is one of the smartest people on the planet. Two PHD's, published papers, distinguish professor in local college, the works. You can have conversation with her on about every subject that comes to mind with exception of Football and Republican agenda :-)

Last summer the lady was... 305LB. 310 if she had not taken a dump for few days (sorry, could not hold it anymore). One day I took a deep breath and email her list of links to scientific papers and HCG diet forums. Trust me, I did it out of concerns for her health, not fat shaming. Anyway, later on we discussed the subject few times, I advised where and how to get HCG not breaking the bank and left it there. Long story short, my friend is now 250LB, much better look and feel, stopped her high blood pressure medication under advice of her doctor ("Seem you don't need it anymore" he told her last week), and she is gearing up for third "41 days round". Now she believes one day she can go back to 150LB where she was 20 years go.

Does this proves HCG diet is real? I don't know. Is she losing weight - scale might be off but not 55LB for sure.

@ironwill1951 If one day I decide to reveal my identity, you will find this same stile on my technical blog. Memento Mori... so why not have fun while heading to the final destination...

@DragoT
Tesamorelin is legally available in the States (with a prescription)
brand name Egrifta
Egrifta Information from Drugs.com

What baffles me is:
'Egrifta is used to reduce excess fat around the stomach that is caused by taking certain HIV medications. This condition is also called lipodystrophy'
Although they then clarify
'Egrifta is not a weight-loss medication and should not be used to treat obesity.'

A clarification to prevent abuse as GHRHs DO help reduce fat?

'HIV-associated lipodystrophy is a condition characterized by loss of subcutaneous fat associated with infection with HIV'

HIV-associated lipodystrophy - Wikipedia
Management
GHRH analogs such as tesamorelin can be used to treat HIV-associated lipodystrophy.

Maybe GHRHs do fill coarse wrinkles (like the nasolabial fold) and reduce abdominal fat?
It is surprising that they don't mention using plain GH for HIV lipodistrophy. I wonder if it's just because of costs or GHRHs do something GH doesn't?
If so, this may explain anecdotal experiences of GHRHs "rejuvenating" filling wrinkles and reducing abdominal fat better than GH.

Personally, I always thought GHRHs seemed to work better than GH for anti-aging purposes because it's cheaper so they can afford more of it.
... and they don't wrinkle their face in awe because of GH sticker shock LOL
but this sheds light that GHRHs may biologically work better than GH.

Sorry if this means more questions than answers
but it's an interesting topic

Interesting thread, look forward to more info and personal experiences being shared.

I've been with the beast, read a couple of Suzanne Somers books and tamed the beast.
trying out ghrp-6 now, my first try with peptides.

Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in (Michael Corleone)

I wanted to spare y'all my rant about how fucked the western healthcare system is, but, since we are the topic…

But first... The feminist movement and I are in deep disagreement on many things, but for one I will say “Hats off, Ma’am”. Apparently, it takes a pussy to get new boobs.

To avoid confusion, pretend you are sitting next to medical insurance adjuster and listening him on the phone:

Hello, this is Jason, how might I help you today? Yes, Ma’am. Yes, Ma’am. Yes… I am sorry to hear you had breast cancer… That’s too bad, indeed. I understand, Mastectomy…. Yes, Ma’am, we do cover breast reconstruction. Please do not worry, your right boob will be just like your left one. What… you had both removed? The paperwork says… Yes, Ma’am. Yes, Ma’am. I will put a note right here – three boobs for Ms…. No, Ma’am. I am serious. I do that just in case, so you don’t have to call again. Yes, Ma’am, all three are covered. Have a good day, Ma’am, and please tell the local bitch organizer you spoke with Jason…

This is exactly what they did – fought hard in the “War for the boobs” and won. And I do agree with that. Aside for esthetics, I can only imagine what Mastectomy does to women psyche… Oh, wait, isn’t the same as to what Erectile Dysfunction does to men?!?

Now you are sitting next to a family practice doctor:

Hi DragoT, how it’s going? Still smoking?... Too bad, too bad. You have to start thinking of quitting. I can write you a script for Chantix? Why you come see me today?... Let see, you have not had morning wood since when? You said to me that last year too? Hmm… Anything new? You don’t have desire to have sex with your wife? How long y’all been married? 28 years? Anything going on between you too? I can refer you to marriage canceler?... What did you say?... You don’t have desire to have sex with any woman? Have you tried Viagra?, I have free samples… Oh, I give you samples last year? Oh, does not work? Perhaps Cialis this time? Ok, ok, let me look the bloodwork again… Counts OK, ah, LDL kind of high, I can write you a script for Lipitor… ok, understand, you did not come to see me for that… Well, your Testosterone is normal… Look, with aging we pay price, and this is part of it. Yeah, I hear you. Indeed, it is bad for the psyche… But listen, I can give you prescription for Prozac. Trust me, in two weeks you aint’t going to give two shit about this problem, or any problem at all… What? What did you say? Fuck me?!? You just said you don’t have desire for sex at all…

That’s what we are – pussies. The other half of the population have the pussy; hence it takes a pussy to get what you want.

Stay on topic, DragoT, stay on topic.

The grand conspiracy of western medical establishment

I said it before, and let me repeat – nothing is personal, it is always business.

Money are made from sick people. The longer a person is sick, the more money can be made of him/her. It is a sick/cynical/frightening interpretation, and yet – I am not taking it personally. Because it is not – big Pharma does not want to keep me on maintenance or risk my life with substance that knows causes more harm than benefits. Bug Pharma don’t give two shits about the individual. It is a business model, that’s all.

Have you noticed every now and then someone will go on TV in the wee hours to talk about healthy nutrition, GMO free, gluten free diet, and maintaining balanced hormonal levels? And how the next day you have 10 talking heads debunking it? I am tired of people screaming in my face from the TV screen: You’re getting old, there is nothing to do about it. Oh, and by the way, make sure you die immediately after you turn 67 in order to keep the social security program solvent. Of course, if you get cancer just at this age, we will make additional $100,000 or more on chemo and then you can die at age 67 and half.

If you look the issue from this prospective, all of a sudden it opens all new prospective.

Quality of life is not a medical diagnose. It will never be one. Feeling good, being happy, eating healthy, exercising, doing outdoor activity, loving every minute spent with your wife, kids and grandkids makes you appreciate life and even more eagerly work to protect the quality of life by living even more healthier lifestyle. What’s missing here? The money that cannot be made from happy healthy individual.

No matter how much money can be made from HGH (or GHRH, or MK-677 etc), if indeed works as we hope it does, it is nothing compared to the current profits by maintain the status quo.

I have been blessed, or lucky, whichever matches your beliefs, to visit my doctor 8 (eight) times in the last 5 years – once a year for physical and three times last year to make the MoFo write me a prescription for Testosterone Cypionate. I feel great! To quote someone :-) – greater than ever before. How long will this last, I have no idea, but for all intends and purposes I plan to enjoy every minute of it.

So true
but if it works you already know about it (although you may need to do most research yourself as the status quo prevents doctors from knowing about it).

What's your opinion on if average-Joes will need to take anti-estrogens some 20 years from now to fight environmental pollution/pesticides/chemical additives (estrogenic)?
Studies already show Testosterone levels steadily declining decade by decade:

It is viscous cycle, unfortunately. To become a doctor, one must comply (even if do not agree) with the indoctrination by the medical establishment, and to become successful i.e. part of the establishment, same must indoctrinate the next generation.

On the Estrogens in males... You must be on TRT :-) Or... you're reading TRT boards a lot as I do. To me the key is keep the essential hormones is balance, or sync, if you wish. Only fine tuned violin is worthy of been part of the symphony, badly or not tuned one is booed right away.

Every now and then on TRT boards someone will say "I'v got my Testosterone to the roof and still have weak erection. To make it worst, Viagra does not help either". The answer always is "check E2". If Estradiol is even slightly off of the sweet spot (it varies from person to person, but generally between 20-30 pg/ml), immediately a crash and/or limp dick follows. TRT mantra is - find the "sweet spot" and try to stay there at any cost"

I will have a lot to say when talk about nutrition, and when I am done, half of you will think "Fuck this guy", and the other half - "Hmm..." Right now I will mention one fact only and leave the rest when it is due - my wife and I have not had a single gulp of any liquid that comes in PET (even if it says BPA free) bottle since May 1st, 2016.

I am sure you have seen this (or similar), but for those who have not:

Have you read Ray Peat articles?
He advises to avoid Estrogen like the plague
This article sheds light on the Estrogenic action of pesticides and pollutants:
Estriol, DES, DDT.

In fact all his articles are very interesting, and many are anti-aging related

Healthy Diet and Nutrition Intake – Part I

Orthorexia Nervosa

Orthorexia is the term for a condition that includes symptoms of obsessive behavior in pursuit of a healthy diet. Orthorexia sufferers often display signs and symptoms of anxiety disorders that frequently co-occur with anorexia nervosa or other eating disorders.

It is not an officially recognized disorder in the DSM-5 (the standard classification of mental disorders used by mental health professionals in the U.S.), but is similar to other eating disorders – those with anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa obsess about calories and weight while orthorexics obsess about healthy eating (not about being “thin” and losing weight).

Let see… desire to eat healthy is now obsession and qualified mental disorder? What in the world is going on now days?

Let me tell you a story (I hear in my mind my wife goes “Here we go again”)

Early last year I was watching something on YouTube, and you know how on right a random video are sometimes suggested. I glance and there is “No knitting require Italian Artesian Bread” or something like that. Who does not like the smell of just baked bread :-) so naturally I watch it. Flower, water, salt, yeast. That’s it. Preparation method is not relevant. The loaf turned beautiful and tasty. Yay me!

On day three it was not tasty anymore – crumbling, the crust was not crispy anymore. On day five, a mold developed and whatever left was thrown. Now my curiosity is raised and I go with my wife grocery shopping. I don’t do that often, since my male “common sense” is screaming silently every time “Dear, we are here grocery shopping! Do you really have to touch every flicking item in the female clothing section?!?” Anyhow, I kick my common sense in the nuts to shut up and am pushing the cart after her. I get permission to separate :-) and go by the Bread Section. I am curious as of why the bread there have expiration day 90 (ninety days) after date of production.

Folks, have you ever read Ingredients section of the label of any grocery you buy?

label.JPG

Note the names you cannot even pronounce without twisting your tongue.

Fast forward one hour later. She is on one aisle, I am on another, and we’re screaming across the store “Honey, come see this label”, “No, you come see this one”! Finally, we leave, passing a church (you should have guessed by now – we live in south) and stop by the liquor store right next to the church. Grab e bottle of single malt, go home, sit on the back porch and poor ourselves a drink. In silence! We sat silent about 30 min or so, I shit you not.

My wife always has been suspicious to my “conspiracy theories”, but in very early stages in our marriage we set a rule – “First listen, then say: Bullshit. Immediate dismissal with prejudice before a case is made does not help building healthy relationships.” So, with the years, she has heard me bitching about Aliens, GMO, Depopulation agenda, Shadow Government and so on, and so on. Long story short, I've got pretty drunk that evening. Next day I wake up and drag myself to the office to start the work day. I hear noises form the kitchen, go to check and what do I see – she is emptying the pantry and the fridge! Sorting stuff in a big cardboard box or throwing stuff in the trash can. I am like: WTF woman?!? All this expires today? She was sorting non-perishable (went to the local soup kitchen), and perishable (trashed).

She points to the fridge and there it is – the Ten Shopping Commandments. Like the other one: “Thou shall not kill”, for example. Although… if you have studied the ancient Hebrew texts, the original version reads “Thou shall not kill Jews”. Speaking of prejudice... but I digress…

#1: “Thou shall not buy any product where the label lists ingredient thou cannot pronounce!”
