Who's ready for the fight??

Of course there's always a remote chance MG could land the big one, yet since he is fighting a PROFESSIONAL BOXER who iis arguably one of the best of all time ---

Mayweather by round FOUR and that's being kind.

No surprise really, MW enters an MMA rring against MG and the outcome would be similarity reversed IMO.

One can only hope MG is being paid handsomely.
In a MMA contest Mayweather wouldnt of lasted half the first round. Even if he had a year to prep for the fight. The things learned like BJJ, wrestling and mua thai are learned over the long term and are not normal reactions if you havent studied and practiced the disciplines. Boxing is well...boxing. Throwing punches. And we all see last night an amateur boxer CAN stand against a boxer in a boxing match. Even the very best they have to offer. In reverse? Not so much

Connor did excellent imo, given the opponent. Would love to see Mayweather man the fuck up and fight a real fight. My guess would be a KO midway first round.

No, same result as former boxing heavy weight champ James Toney when he thought his boxing was gonna be enough in a fight. Choked out with his tongue hanging out on the mat. By a man 50lbs lighter and 12 yrs older. Couture was over 50 when he brought the hammer down on that candy ass.

Randy was sick. Thoroughly enjoyed watching him fight. Saw Randy vs Chuck 3 in Vegas. The environment is wicked awesome at a live event, almost at a seething level.

He was done. All that shit he talked I'm gonna knock him out. Did you not think mayweather knew mcgregor was going to give his all early in the fight?? He lost plain and simple. He was about to be knocked out. He didn't do bad at all. I'm give him that, but MMA needs to have a new respect for boxing. Mcgregor was bigger and stronger. I'm glad he lost. He didn't respect the sport.
Conor is lucky they called it when they did.
No respect is right! Lol hands behind his back?
What a dick head!

I said a stoppage in round 7-8. Pretty fukin close. I will give McCregor a lot of credit. But we all know the better boxer won. I give McCregor the first 3 rounds. Maybe 1 more. But Mayweather waited him out and took full control. Worth the money. Entertaining fight.

It also goes to show mma conditioning doesn't transfer to boxing.
Im not quite sure thats it? The boxing match last night was about 21 minutes long ending in a TKO. A championship fight in MMA is 25 minutes long. Mayweather is a defensive fighter. Meaning hes never the aggressive attacker. Which means he always will conserve energy and play it safe. McGregor was absolutely the aggressor which means hes spending more energy. All that given even Lance armstrong in his prime would pale to a boxer in a boxing match. Its a sport specific conditioning element built in. No one in their right mind would consider Mayweather the superior conditioned athlete out of him and Armstrong but in a boxing match its specific to the skill involved. All in all McGregor was pretty suprising considering he never had a pro fight under his belt. And he was boxing the best their respective sport has to offer. I dont think what you suggested is it at all.

I agree with most. Both have to respect the other. Meaning boxing and MMA. But there's always a chance a MMA guy could beat a boxing guy but NEVER the other way around. Good fight though. I'm impressed by Mcgregor.

It was 28 minutes and 45 seconds. 3 and half minutes longer then Mcgregor has ever fought. I agree with everything else you stated. Totally different conditioning IMO. You wrestling a guy for minutes or having someone laying on you for minutes while trying to get up is a totally different stamina needed them holding your hands up with 8-10 oz gloves on. Both have to respect each other's profession and the different challenges each sport faces.

12, 3 minute rounds. My bad. Your right :)

Boxing is more challenging in that you only have fists to use and a lot less targets to hit.
I disagree. Boxing you know 100% where the attack is coming from, left or right hand..MMA .. It could be a kick, punch, round house kick, spinning hammer fist, shoot and take down, punch, jab, super man punch, spinning elbow, elbow up the middle from the side, leg kick both inside and outside legs, kick up the middle to the chest and prob some I missed. Also in MMA the ref is not stopping and resetting every 10 seconds because you got yourself in a bad position. Not to mention not sure if you've ever had someone on top of you trying to beat your face in and you trying to get up and not take a beating meanwhile.

That's like saying a golfer could go play football. Boxing is finesse like golf and MMA is like football where the goal is to kill whoever has the ball.

The few tools you have the more difficult it is to effect them.

Folks seems to think boxing is supposed to be real fight simulation, it's not.

Boxing way back was like mma, original greek Olympics, and it evolved to what it is because people like it.

If you want more striking options watch Muy Thai, if you want grappling watch bjj, wrestling etc.

Different people want to see different things. Mma has even gone less toward reality fighting recently.

People pay to see whatever they like, not everything claims to be real fight simulation.

In a real fight fuck all martial arts including mma, I'm using sticks, chairs, bottles, eye pokes, biting, nut sack attack, guns whatever.

You guys can start at age 5 and do 10 years bjj, 5 years wrestling, 5 years muy Thai, out it all together with constant conditioning, full time cardio.

I'm gonna just watch porn, smoke a packet of cigs a day, drink whiskey, eat pizza and pick up a length of pipe and destroy you anyway if you stupid enough fuck with me without a weapon.

I'm not stupid enough to fuck with someone else if I don't have a weapon, I just run.

Conor was only the aggressor is the opening rounds. Floyd was by far then more aggressive fighter. He never stopped moving forward towards Conor, something nobody expected.
It's hard to counter attack when your on your heels back peddling for 7 rounds.

I love the conversation here, I agree with pretty much everything everyone has said. But in the end let's face it... McGregor did not land any punches of significance. They were light touches. That is the end of the story.
According to the judges he landed 111 punches of significance. More then anyone has ever done against Floyd in 10 rounds.

You better be ready to kill someone if your ready to use a weapon in a fight. It will likely be necessary. Or it may just happen accidentally. That's prison time bud. It's people with that mentality that make it scary to fist fight anymore. Everybody scared to get hit. Pussies..

I saw my buddy get hit with a bat. It broke his forearm when he went to block it. His adrenaline dumped and he took the dude down and smashed his face until we had to pull him off. It was only after that we saw his arm sideways..
