God

I thought gravity was from mass bending space? The bigger the planet, the stronger the gravity. Like stretching rubber(space) over the mouth of a jar then putting a marble in the middle. Things are drawn to the center(marble). The bigger the marble the greater the pull.

I think the point of his post however was that you don't actually SEE gravity. The earth spins at 1000mph and yet you can't even see that from space. People believe there was just a random bang for no reason and everything was created.

People have faith in every day things that can't even see, they just believe what they're told by teachers and professors and yet people seem to think it's absolutely insane to believe in a divine creator.

You got me man. I was of the understanding it was from the spinning of the earth, much like that ride at the fair that spins super fast and then the bottom drops out and you stay in place. Which brings up a point - IF the earth is spinning super fast like that ride (and even faster), why aren’t we feeling it?

Yeah, but we'd be on the outside so that wouldnt work. You cant ride the outside centrifugal force pushes you away from center.

Oh, I know that. I dont think believing in God is insane at all.

Centrifugal force repels you from center. The opposite of gravity.

There's a website that does a good job of explaining it if you google centrifugal force and gravity. I'm not exactly sure how to put it into words right now ( I just woke up lol ) but the website does a good job of explaining the effects of using centrifugal forces to simulate gravity.

Now of cource there is no way to prove that God exists as equally there is no way to prove that he does not exist. There is no way to prove science as there is no way to disprove science (evolution) or budhism or islam..or what ever........but it all takes "faith" to belive in "nothing" or to believe in "something"..
So when "faith" is challenged or thrown aside, one must remember that we were not there to "witness the birth of our known and unknown universe". We were not there to witness the "death and resurectiom" of Jesus my saviour.. with our own eyes.... its about faith..
So lets start with the "bible" (Basic Information Before Leaving Earth) ......and let me just say I'm not an authority or expert.... just some things I've picked up over the years...
We know it was writen in Hebrew Aramaic and greek old testement. New testament was mainly Latin....
The bible is a reliable and very acuret part of our history in chronological order of our existence( putting the spiritual aspects of it aside).
we know that scribes were charged to copy page after page word for word the writen word of God. And if one word was written incorrectly that scribe was put to death and another took his place just as with every monk/scribe put in charge of writing the "writen" word of God.... so you must understand how seriously there jobs were to be taken, copying the the bible page after page years after years... it was a matter of life and death...amd these men were better than us...
The bible gives explination for the creation of the heavens above and below us.. there was nothing.... then God created something by his own words..(Kinda sounds a little like what science be say'n bout the big bang) and when land and water were seperated. When light was devided by dark or if you will... day and night..
It tells us how we came to be and given dominion over the earth, plants animals and sea life...... it also gives reference to other pantheons that were worshiped as gods and godesses and gives references to most of what we know of othere religions..... there ways and blood sacrifices and such... and so on. God says "there shall be no other gods before me"
Hinduism seems to be one oldests religions which can be traced to the hittites...which were ordered seposidly by god for every man woman and child and animal of there kind to wiped out in battled but they did not kill the childern as ordered... the Sumarians were the first civilition of writen word and the first signs of "thinking man" which was in the near east were the explosion of life that began when all other traces of the Neanderthals and other evolutionary type simbients died out.... so take this as you will... translation is always a tricky thing... but you want facts? Heres one that comes to mind.... there are i believe "486" (or close to that number) words in the bible that could not be translated to english for no other reason then there were no words to translate it to.. but aside from those few words that could not be translated it is "word for word" translated from the original writen word...Gods expresion of life to man........now of course man will always manipulate or by his own ignorance, pervert the meaning of Gods will, church or faith as we see so often..so again everything in life my friends is faith based and we live and die by what we believe in...
If you want to know what truth is, then go out and find truth... you"ll know how to research bodybuilding and how the many compounds work for your body?

Sharpen the body and sharpen the mind..

A great post but I’m not sure I entirely agree with the inference about the origins of the bible. You almost suggest it was written as a considered single work where as most bible scholars accept its a collection of writings over hundreds of years compiled into a single body of work

It’s history is both interesting and intriguing.

A decent article below that explains it much better than can for those interested.

Who Actually Wrote The Bible?

On the first day, man created God.

Prove me wrong.

This book was written by humans therefore it is already flawed!

I guess only wizards and spell casters could live back then and not now?

A woman turned to salt, a donkey talked, water to wine, tower to Babylon, immaculate conception, a man lived in a snake, a man rode a tornado to heaven, thousands of animals lived on a 500’ boat...

Jesus said; “Peace on Earth”

The rest of the verse that they seem to always omit reads;

“Think not that I have come to send peace on earth. No, I have not come to send peace, but a sword”

The religious people take most of this book out of context!

God has always given free will but has also always had his rules. If there is a God, he has every right to make people play by those rules. Kind of like parents who set rules for their kids and punish them when they’re broken.

Per “the book” they did live by those rules and they drowned for living by them. I’d be glad to recite it for you if you need.

Well yeah, Jesus comes with a sword because people hate the truth. Brother will turn against brother, mother against daughter etc.,. People will hate you for being a Christian and telling others the truth. They cant live in their sin and go to heaven.

Everyone wants hell insurance. People's problem with that is, you've got to pay for that insurance by following God's will.

You are correct - most only quote half of that scripture, not the full thing. That sword is not permission to slay the “heathen” though, as the RCC has used it to justify their murder through the centuries.
