View attachment 129873 It’s a little hard to see it well, but this is the basement gym I’ve built up over the past few years. I’ve been training alone for about five years and this is where I get it all done. I added a Titan GHD and some more horse stall mats late last year that’s not in the picture. It’s dirty and dusty, but I don’t give a shit. It’s functional and gets the job done.
Hell of a basement gym, eh?
Even has a doomsday clock on the wall.
i like to come down here and unwind after a long day at the office.

At least i would if it were mine. But i don't have a basement, nor do i work in an office.

Rack, bench, barbell, and almost 600lbs in plates not all shown. Also have some horse trailer mats for deadlift. Got rained on the other day while benching and threw that blanket over. I'll get a tarp or something eventually.

Plus all the stuff I kept in my car to take to my gym. Texas Deadlift Bar, EliteFTS Yoke Bar, farmer's carry handles, Spud Inc belt squat belt, front squat harness, bench block, Slingshot, various resistance bands, 4" squat belt, 3" deadlift belt, various shoe, and probably other stuff I'm not thinking of.
Ok, I’ll show up. This is one of the many reasons I lurk and don’t post much or get to involved in the constant banter on here. Although, I do enjoy watching. Plus I stay very busy with work, I’m almost 50 and I don’t need a lot of friends because I have a great family, wife and 3 older children. 2 Of them are at home still and yes they all use the gym.
So, here’s a little back story to the photos. We built the house 5 years ago and I convinced my wife to let me NOT finish a portion of the basement And use it for for a gym. The unfinished part was what was hard, not the gym. Lol. But, I knew I wanted a dirty fucking gym. Good equipment and all, but I still wanted a dungeon if you will. In case you are wondering behind the curtains is storage for my wife’s holiday decorations and shit.
I’m sitting on a couch from this first pic to give you some perspective of the room. I have not been in a public gym in 5 years and I fucking love it. This is part gym and part man cave for me. Oh and I’m also 7 weeks into zero injections, not even TRT. Going to give it a 3 - 6 month break before hopping back on.
And yes, I’m also a fucking Dead Head! Everyone take care of yourself and be safe out there!

I dropped mine and not skipping a beat..Been wondering- With gyms starting to reopen more and more ( albeit some with weird restrictions) is anyone here fully committing to home-gym life?
I mean I have some basics but with some of the setups I see posted in here , dropping a gym membership could be totally doable.
Save between 10-90$ a month and never have to wear a mask...
A friend of mine was passing through my neck of the woods a couple days ago and decided to spend the night. We were in my tomb and he was giving me shit because I didn’t have enough plates for him to work out properly. He’s a big, strong young guy and was picking on me. I asked jokingly how much more weight he needed? He said oh would love to have about 100 more pounds or so. It was all a big joke really but I went and got two pieces of rope and tied a 50 pound dumbbell to each end of the barbell. After a good laugh he decided he was going to rep it out with my poor boy add on. He was floored and said he was going to add this to his training. I’ve heard of chains but that constant weight hanging and swinging causes some serious activation. Anyone else do this? Probably a stupid question but damn it really hits the muscles great. Tried it with ohp, squats, curls, etc.I dropped mine and not skipping a beat..
You are a bad motherfucker if you are squatting the girls I associate with your avi. That's like doing squats with your girl on your shoulders. Her squirming around really changes things.
For real man give it a try! I hung them about 18 inches from the barbell. Pretty cool change up.That's like doing squats with your girl on your shoulders. Her squirming around really changes things.
I only do dumbbell work now. I'm 52 with bad shoulders. Bench press tears me up.For real man give it a try! I hung them about 18 inches from the barbell. Pretty cool change up.
