The reality is that NATO is a relic of the cold war, and it's purpose was to stop the westward spread of Communism.
One look at the democrat party and it's obvious that NATO was a complete failure. Adherence to Communist ideology is rampant in America and its party is currently running the country.
The other reality is that NATO and the united states itself did as much to provoke this war as either Russia or Ukraine ever did.
I think communism has been apart of this country for quite some time going back more than 100 years.
The core of many of the hardest working men and women in this country is really built on the backs of Socialism. We've been told to ignore this past, but it's a fascinating history where much of what they did got us to this point, but they stopped and now the worker is stagnating with regards to worker rights and our systems are clearly out of date with technology.
I've always said it's not the system, it's about putting in place a way of life geared towards the human and not the machine. Towards the average man and not the rich that exploit. We seem to have given up on the idea that it's kind of nice to have collective power where you can change the terms to suit the masses instead of a few elites. We have been brainwashed to revere and admire the rich and that's to our own detriment.
Socialism in America comes out of the late 1800's.
Communism obviously during the Russian Revolution 1920.
There was a time when workers in this country were treated with a total disregard, worked to death, carcass tossed in a box and in the ground. Slums filled with diseased workers that were basically slaves. It's a perfect environment for violent revolution. There indeed was a time when the worker was a badass in this country, sticks of dynamite under the bosses office chair, baseball bats out in the streets, governments fighting wars against workers that rose up.
This shouldn't be looked down upon, I think it's actually inspiring to see mans zest for freedom. A lot of the most interesting characters in history came out of these revolutions.
I have a hard time believing anyone can be so fucking stupid. Do you live in Russia?
Expanding Nato into eastern Europe was a mistake, but to claim the United States is as responsible as the Russian Federation is preposterous.

Paul the problem is that our media is nothing more than propaganda itself. They have been called out for it for years and they just double down. Our government has become so completely corrupted it is beyond repair, it is rotten to the core. Hard times are coming, hopefully we learn from this but our memories seem to be so short.

If you think I'm going to defend our governments action around the world, I'm not. In my life Vietnam was fucked up. Iraq was a fucking disaster, and Afghanistan was a debacle, but what we are witnessing in the Ukraine is something we haven't seen in decades.

Bottom line is we like to go into every country and screw with people. We were monkey wrenching with Ukraine. It sure as hell wasn't the Europeans as they have proven to be about as pacifist as one could imagine. We Americans are the worlds War machine, we have more weapons and known how. We don't know how to do much, but we can wipe just about anyone off the face of the earth that gets in our way. Our global military might is unquestionable and when those weapons start getting rusty it's only natural to put them to go use going around looking for another war.
Until we stop as a war machine, we are in no position to point the finger.
Do I agree with Russia? No, I stated that I think Putin should get a bullet between his eyes(his own people should do it) as he's too dangerous to the world with nukes. The Russians have outgrown this childish nonsense of being ruled by infantile men that has a small man complex.
And yes Chicago is a war zone. Walk down the street some late night in China town and tell me if you feel more at risk then in a war zone. I've been stuck downtown Chicago at 2 am when the clubs closed and walked back to the parking garage with homeless coming up to me trying to get money while I'm dressed in slacks and a $500 leather jacket and a wad of cash just knowing I'm gonna get killed having to walk 7 blocks back to my parking garage, because the cabs are all shut down for the night.
Chicago is the only place I've been where you can't go inside Burger King, you have to pay using a bank teller deposit box and they put the food through a draw where you can't slip a gun through it. Same thing for their convenience stores, you point to the item you want through bullet proof glass.
And I'm not sure Chicago has good drinking water. I have great drinking water, but I'm not sure I'd trust Chicago without a good RO system.

There are parts of Chicago that are fucking terrifying, I mean really scary shit, it's like a war zone with the ambulance running all night long up and down the street.
The noisy chaos of certain run down parts of Chicago(south side) are depressing. You can feel cortisol coming out of every pore on your body. It's one of those places where your brain is telling you to get out as quick as possible.

This entire country is broken for several generations if we start correcting it now.
I suggest taking 200 billion off of our 750 billion dollar defense budget and do something about drug addiction and homelessness.
That would take courage and this country doesn't elect courage, so where are we.
This country has allowed drugs to flood this nation and destroy entire communities. It will be equivalent to fighting a world war and a generation will most likely be lost, but maybe we can save the next generation. I'm all in.
