Accutane permanent cure?

Nsaids will take care of the joint pain.

For fatigue Modafinil or Caffeine will help.

The longer you stay at your current dose, the more those sides should lighten up.
I was thinking deca for joints?

Modafinil is a script right? Addictive?

Yeah figures a month or 2. I’ve read a quite a few had it last the entire duration which would suck.

Ibuprofen, 200-400, knocked out the occasional SI joint pain I had at higher doses, but i've whatever works for you in that regard.

Moda is prescription only (in the US, OTC in other places like Mexico). Readily available from India pharma. Not addictive at all. No withdrawal. Caffeine is crack cocaine by comparison.

I'm a big proponent of Modafinil/Armodafinil (Provigil / Nuvigil) for a whole host of reasons, and can fill you in on some details if you'll be making an India pharma order.

They're "atypical stimulants". really in a class of their own. What caffeine would be of we were designing it from the ground up. No tolerance, no significant sides, no dependence, no tolerance (after an initial adjustment period).

An impeccable safety record over 30 years of use. Not a single death, not a single overdose injury beyond several days of insomnia after a massive dose.

Originally designed as a cognitive enhancer.

currently up to 160mg a day. Just dry lips and dry skin as far as sides. Not too bad.

I would suggest trying it. Its really neat. If you do have a caffeine addiction because of tiredness in the morning this stuff really helps. Ghoul is worth listening to!

Yeah 200mg caffeine daily for like 6-7 years. Feel like absolute shit if I don’t have it. Never missed a day lol.

Yeah definitely going to do some digging. Been trying to take a break from caffeine entirely but doesn’t work lol.

I've gone cold turkey a few times. It's a rough few days. The physical withdrawal effects are brutal. I justify continuing because coffee itself has a number of health benefits (as long as it's not loaded up with sugar ofc).

But Moda? There's zero physical dependence, and only a handful, like single digit, cases reported of what amounted to mild psychological dependence, over the last 30 years.

Literally no one has ever died or been physically harmed by a Moda overdose, despite some suicide attempts with 30+ tablets.

Of course using it to stay up for days without sleep will induce all the usual sleep depravation symptoms.

I should clarify there is a rare allergic reaction that presents as a skin rash. This could be serious and use should stop immediately, That's the only hazard one should be conscious of, but it is very very rare.

Does acne usually go worse before it gets better when using Accutane? I've had a few flare ups since starting accutane and wondered if thats the culprit since it's the only newly added 'thing' in my routine at the moment.

Yes, It's somewhat inaccurately called the "purge".

TLDR the cells lining the inside of your pores are constantly turning over. This process tends to malfunction in people with acne, and isotretinoin "resets" the cell's "programming" on a genetic level so it works correctly and you aren't so acne prone in the future. During the transition, the turnover completely stops, but sebum (oil) production continues, causing a backup within the pores that results in a flare up of bacterial growth.

It's temporary, brief, and only occurs once in each area it affects. Once it happens and clears up, expect to see it occur somewhere else next.

It's a good sign the accutane is working. I had it occur in place I never got acne before, like my stomach.

I would like to share my experience with Accutane.

I had to take it when I was 13-14 years old because I had horrible acne, especially in my face. I can’t remember the exact dosage, but my doctor said it’s the highest amount she’s able to prescribe to a teenager.

A few months later everything was mostly gone, but I still have somewhat visible scars all over my face.

Nowadays I don’t get any acne at all in my face, even when running heavy cycles and not eating 100% clean. However I often get outbreaks on my neck, back and sometimes even shoulders and chest. I think I would have to use Accutane again for these zones.

If the "purges" are any indicator of how long and how much is needed to get to various areas. shoulders were absolute last, upper back just before those.

Studies show body acne requires the highest cumulative doses to cure.

Weird. I don’t have any facial acne, but my shoulders were the first thing to clear up. My chest however, got pretty rough, and is slowly getting better. My back has been slow consistent improvement.

I had near full clearance of acne within the first month. But then the "purge" breakouts started, moving from area to area, which represents the stage where the cells lining the pores are changing. Though not everyone gets those breakouts.

I've read a lot of people think that means acne is returning and quit at that point.

How long did the purge last for you? Fingers crossed I avoid that with summer coming.

I think accutane/roaccutane (istotretinoin) has an adding and lasting semi permanent effect after all.

See, I have used it many times, my first time was high dosage according to the doc/dermatologist where I experienced many side effects, to the point my eyes were dry af, I had to use gel and not just some regular eye drops, let alone the dry skin and chapped lips looking like I was on crack or some shit. Then the drandruff and other nasty sides.

Second and many times from there on, I have used dosages of 20mg for a month or so to get rid of steroid/hormonal acne and it worked wonders. Chapped lips I hate you, but otherwise good experience.

Last time, I have used roa/acc was in 2023 and I still from time to time blast some shit, I feel like I don't have those problems with acne anymore, at least not long term or something. Pretty manageable.

If I ever use it again, it's gonna be 10mg/day for a few weeks, since I know it's what works for me.

Stay safe, there is more data on low dose isotretinoin out there. Just google and don't listen too much to fake scientists no lifers on here, pun intended, you know who I (might) be talking about. Take care and prioritize your health first before doing anything. Peace.

Here's a plain English synopsis of a very recent, weeks old, meta study from Harvard University, again confirming cumulative doses primarily determine the chance of a permanent cure, increasing up to a maximum benefit at 220mg/kg.

The underlying study is linked at the bottom of this article.

This is another recent study confirming the connection between cumulative dose and lower chance of relapse, along with continuing treatment for 50-60 days after full clearance as the other major factor that increases the chances of a permanent cure.

Finally, be sure to keep your Testosterone levels at optimal levels. Low T can cause many physical and psychological symptoms, like a lack of fortitude to deal with the temporary sides of isotretinoin, and making passive aggressive comments commonly associated with feminine behavior.

I picked up that body wash and those "wash cloths" this weekend. I would have never considered using those terry cloths to wash my body, but I like them. The body wash lathers up well, doesn't dry out my skin but also doesn't leave it with an oily residue... just like you stated. The cloths are great, very easy to get my back now.. and thoroughly.

Side effects seem to be cyclical for Accutane for me. I seem to go through a few days at a time where my asshole is very upset, and then it calms down. Then it gets angry again, requiring the icy relief of a cold pack. Same for eyes and dryness, and that back-of-the-hands rash has returned a few times. That spreadsheet I posted a while back was fucked up. How the hell did I establish 8 days in a week? Miscounted a few things too. Today started the 11th week, having been at 160mg a day for three solid weeks now. Ten more weeks to go... sigh. Been injecting the Glutathione every other day, hoping to alleviate some stress on the liver, but I have no idea if it does anything.

Brother, I know what you're going through at 160 and the force of will it takes to stay there, If you get to the point you think you'll break, cut back slightly and just add more time.

Keep your eyes on the prize of never having to do this again, or ever deal with another breakout.

Your timing is good too, ending before having to deal with the Summer sun, since it makes you so much more sensitive to sunburn.
