I'm stealing your recipe buddy!!! That motherfucking cheese...I'm a cheese junkie!! Sometimes at night when I'm hungry I'll eat a few slices of some really good, top shelf cheese. The shit is expensive so it's not like I can eat a ton of it, but it's non carb and hits the spot sometimes. Pork rinds too, every once in awhile I'll have those. I think our kitchen cabinets would be similar. Keep pushing my man!!

Are you doing the diet exactly the way it's laid out? I believe it's only a slight caloric deficit during the week , then maintainance on the weekend. If so you lost a lot of weight on such a small deficit.

Ive lost 10lbs in 4 weeks (2 weeks/5lbs on this diet) I am trying to lose weight so I m eating in a 500cal deficit ...this diet really works if you can handle the carb deprivation .
My will is strong !! :D

It's only my first day so it's not too bad. I'm not hungry. I find it a little difficult counting calories on a low carb diet unless I eat lean protein and just and my own fats to it. As opposed to fatty meats. I reached out to @DD he advised me to lean down before my next blast. That's the plan.

Get a tub of coconut oil & some extra virgin olive oil , for energy . Or you will be ragged out all the time on just meat/proteins. Take a tbs whenever you eat and whenever your hungry/tired . Your trying to get your body to use fats as energy instead of carbs .

Then you take a carb-up . I myself like to go 10-14 days strict lo-carb (under 50gms/day) before my first carb-up , then every 5 days after that ....it can be brutal for a carb/sugar lover . But you will lose fat for sure and spare muscle if you keep your proteins high .

View attachment 54731

BUMP. Same thing for dinner tonight turkey spinach/kale salad . With pork rinds ;)
A big tbs of coconut oil too...

NOTE : I got kinda dizzy today working , lack of carbs/probably low blood sugar too . Took a big tbs of coconut oil and instantly felt better...it works

The diet can be very easy on paper, little difficult after that 3rd day of carb depletion, the 4th and 5th days are a little rough. All I do is keep my meals around 400 cals x 6 meals a day during the week. Usually 4-6 ounces of meat and a cpl tablespoons of flax oil puts me rt there, I do that almost every meal actually, with breakfast being the exception or 1-2 shakes a day, but the fatty oil is almost every meal and it DOES HELP keep energy levels up much better. On weekends I'll either do a 2 day carb up or 1 off day from diet and then rt back to no carbs. If I do an off day then I won't do the 2 day carb up, just the off day. For example, last Sunday I just took the day off dieting, breakfast was hash browns and a pecan waffle, my post workout meal (meal #2) was 2 Greek yogurts, meal 3 was tostitos and guacamole, meal 4 was popcorn from the movie theatre, meal 5 was some cubed potatoes and a shake, meal 6 was a shake. So since I went a little overboard on Sunday I reverted straight back to no carbs yesterday (my Sat/sun carb ups got thrown off from thanksgiving so it ended up falling on Sun/Mon but I only did Sunday this past week

Sounds horrid

Day 10 on Opus diet (still havent carbed up). Kinda brain foggy , tired then I"ll get bursts of energy . Hyper with insomnia . Muscles are flat as a pancake .
Its all very familar , I did keto dieting twice last year so its deja' vu all over again.
Gonna go ahead and push it until Friday ...its gonna get rough .

I'm guessing you're going this long without a carb up as sort of a kick-start??

Instead OD flax oil, is consider either macadamia nut oil, or coconut, or even olive oil

Consuming 2400 calories (400 X 6 meals) how much of a deficit does that leave you at?

How is your strength in the gym?

Although there is no possible way to know for sure, I'm guessing around a 600 cal a day average deficit. As for strength in the gym, my larger lifts have gone down some. I used to be a 600+ lb deadlifted and I did a single with 495 last time and that was very difficult.(I did get 405/8 though). My incline db press used to be 125 lb db x 12-15 reps, now I'm not going higher than the 100's on flat (which is easier than incline) , so yea it's gotten into strength a bit but I don't care abt that rt now. My rest times are brief and I find other ways to make the training intense

UPDATE 12/14

Ok, coming up near the end of 8 weeks on this. I have dropped as low as 206 lbs first thing in the a.m. and weighed today and was sitting at 209 lbs. My body is beginning to fight this diet, it's starting to fuck with my sleep more and energy levels are very low. Today for my post workout meal I had a Wendy's broccoli and cheddar potato and a small bowl of chili. My body isn't bouncing back from the carb days anymore like it was, I just stay flatter now. Today I decided to listen to my body and consume a little more post workout. I think this is about the end of the traditional body opus diet for me. I have lost as much as 18 lbs in just under 8 wks (although back up 3 lbs today). From this point forward I will begin adding carbs back in solely pre and post workout to try and get fuller and I'm guessing I'll look harder from it. My goal weight was to hit 210 and I've achieved a little more than that, now it's all about slowly filling back out and trying to maintain close to this condition.

I'll post final pics in the next day or two when I fill out a little more, very flat today. All in all, Body Opus diet is a good diet for a quick 8 week jumpstart IMO. If you're looking to get back a good and lean foundation to build on then I'd recommend it. I like to get lean first and then build up, most do the opposite. So here's to hoping for a much larger looking build with good conditioning to come. I may just add onto this thread and keep the log rolling
