50 years old doing first cycle.... Advise?

I am 50 years old and going to start my first cycle. I am planning on doing a 12 weeks cycle of Test E 250mg every 5 days. I have trained on and off most of my life. I have been solid the last 3 years. My diet is clean about 60% protein, 30% carbs, 10% fats. I am 6'4" 225 lb 16% bodyfat. I was thinking about adding Anavar the last 6 weeks. I am not trying to get crazy, just be able to make the gains I used to when I was younger.

I am trying to lose fat and gain muscle (isn't eveyone)

1. is this a reasonable cycle?
2. Should I train 1-2 body parts every day or keep my weights one day, cardio next program
3. How much cardio should I include
4. What PCT do I need with this

Any advise would be welcome

testosterone...... Especially at your age, its crucial...... It should be the base of every cycle anyways.
My biggest concern is with not using test, at your age, coming back might prove to be very difficult. The results you'd get from test would be far better as well.

Hoping all you elder brothers in iron are still at it. I have chosen to stop cycling and just cruise indefinitely. I add compounds here and there (also known as "blasting") and am really enjoying life. My physique is excellent for my age (almost 49) and libido is alive and well. I'm currently running Test C (my cruise base) @ 300 mg/wk. Also pinning boldenone at 450mg/wk. I started the Bold mostly for joint repair but really love the tightness and quality lean muscle I'm getting. been on it for 5 months now and I really like it. I'll be throwing in 50mg/ED Tren Ace starting September. You don't want to run Tren when its hot!
Anyway, keep at it brothers.

Good post. However, I think you need to give your body something of a rest for several months at a time, say running 100 to 200 mg/wk of Test e or c. Heart especially needs more than a "cruise". Your choice, of course!

I hope all you recent posters note that this thread began in January, 2011.

I'm over 60, but count me in for the elderly BB contest for my svelte beauty alone. Looks like I don't want to compete in the massive category with Big Paul or Oregongearhead. :o

Solo,

I saw it was 2011. I joined the forum way back when I was in my 30's. I'll be 50 next year so I was just seeing if there were still other Ancient ones on here. Good to see I was right. I used to do about 3 to 4 cycles each year back then. I've been on this cruise since February 2013 and don't see myself coming off ever. Everything is just so much better. Little aches and pains that I used to wake up with are gone. I recover much faster and my sex life is great! Wife is quite content. Hope to see more posts from all of you gray haired brothers in iron.

what exactly is your protocol desert?

Tue - 150mg Test C/225mg Boldenone
Fri - 150mg Test C/225mg Boldenone

Totals = 300mg Test C/week
450mg Boldenone/week

I added the Bold back in January at 300mg/week to repair my Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis (tennis elbow). The year prior I added the prohormone Superdrol to my Test C only cruise and got very strong. Unfortunately my muscles got stronger than my supporting tissue and viola! Worst case of tennis elbow I've ever had. Couldn't even hold a cup of coffee. Boldenone and Deca both repair supportive tissue but Bold at a much greater rate. I've been very pleased with the result. Pain in the elbow is now gone and I'm back to doing biceps curls and the like. My focus is to build the supporting tissue to be able to handle the heavier weights that come with added compounds like Superdrol or Dbol. I'll stay at 450mg/week for a couple more months then up it to 600mg/wk in September which is when I'm adding 50mg Tren Ace ED for a 60 day run.

jesus .. you cruise at 300mg/week?! do you get your total and free T numbers checked? how about your RBC count? dont you have health concerns running this much T?

I actually cruise at 150mg/wk. I upped it to 300 when I added the Bold. Once my connective tissue/joints are where I want them I'll drop back to 150mg/wk Test C. I'm probably going to run the Bold to the end of the year.

Not getting my levels checked again until I come back down to 150mg/wk. that has me in the 800 range. RBC count is high with the Bold but no negative issues like high BP so far. BP is 130/80 last checked last month.

Okay, this is probably crazy to many people, but I just turned 64 last February. Had a malignant tumour removed from my upper large intestine (and about a foot of the intestine, too) in summer 2012. I just don't feel right not pushing myself in the gym and running proper TRT (100 mg/wk Test c) can get pretty boring too.

So I'm currently "in gear" at 500 mg/wk of Test e, 600 mg/wk of EQ, and 450 mg/wk of Mast p. – plus hitting the gym on a regular basis. I'm not as big as I once was (what a surprise!;)) and, damned, I do tire more quickly, but results are showing. I just do shorter workouts. Dealing with the usual sides, especially high RBC, but I donate blood every 59 days, which helps a lot. I'm still having fun with it, and my attractive 47 yr old lady is cheering me on. So I don't know when it's time to hang up the old workout gloves and stop taking those magical hormones. I don't feel out of place in the gym, so I'll probably just go on until it just hurts too much to continue.

(My pic is from 2010, pre-op, but still not that long ago.)

Just adding to the conversation.

I was 53 and trained naturally for 25 years before I did my first cycle which was a Test-only cycle. Only mistake I did on that one was try Prop to start it off  Prop wasn't for me ... it felt like I took a 95 mph fast ball in the thigh after my first shot ! I kept trying to suck it up but no way , I couldn't fucking move the limb that I injected into let alone train. I then changed to Test E and all was good.

The next cycle I added Equipoise but noticed nothing different than using Test only. The cycle after that I did Test E and Tren E and that was it ... I was in love :drooling: !!! What I read about Tren being the ' juice from the Gods' wasn't an exaggeration . It gave me just the results I was after and am fortunate that I don't have the bad sides many experience when on it . I do lower doses of both items than most guys do so maybe that's why ... I've been cycling with just those two compounds ever since.

Good luck with your first cycle :).

If you're going to run it and this is your first cycle, do 30 mg/day, morning, noon, & PW.

My suggestion: Plan for a workout every day, changing muscle groups each day, about 50 minutes. Do cardio 3 times EW 20-30 min. However, give yourself enough latitude that you probably only get in 5 days a week — listen to your body.

Definitely do protein shakes, but get at least 3 squares, as well.

I started the roid after 50 (after learning all I could right here on Meso). I'm still learning & still living the life.

Hello,
Am 56, work out, good clean diet. I started the cycle(Sustanon 250, 500mg a week) because I don't have the energy r stamina at the gym. I had a trainer for 6 months. Did well but could not get further ahead. I reached a plateau as far as stamina and muscle development test results cam back low and also some saliva tests to determine hormone and cortisol stress levels which are also low. The doctor has put me on these supplements to balance everything. He did start me on TRT. It is the cream. To me it doesn't work. Besides getting a few erections in the morning it didn't do anything else. Last visit he gave me an injection and said in 2 days will feel a difference. I didn't and grew frustrated and decided to start the cycle. Will tell him on my next visit. Could you advise on the best product to prevent estrogen build up? Also should I start taking it now or post cycle?

He said he will also start me on HGH( results also came back low) once I have a second test to see if other hormone levels have improved.

Stick with long-ester Test only for your first cycle, though you will shut-down during your cycle in any case. In my opinion, guys over 50 have little to fear from running AAS cycles since their natural testosterone levels are already so low. However, if you continue to cycle, you will almost certainly need HRT (hormone replacement therapy) since it will also be harder to even return to the older man's natural lower test levels. Good news izzat at our age, getting HRT once our BW has shown low levels of test is usually fairly easy, so you can cruise between cycles on something like 100 mg/wk of pharmaceutical testosterone, basically a young man's natural level. In that case, you won't need any PCT (post cycle therapy) since you will no longer have to worry about re-attaining natural test levels.

Having said that, the usual protocol for a smaller cycle like 500 mg/wk of Test (250 mg 2x/wk) for, say, 12 weeks is a waiting period of about three weeks after your last injection then use a SERM (either nolvadex or clomid or both) for 4-6 weeks. Stay off-cycle for as long as it takes to return to natural levels (whatever that is), usually as long off as you were on (including PCT). See Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) by Anthony Roberts for some things to think about, but probably too much information.

Many people say keep an AI like arimidex or aromasin on hand in case of gyno symptoms, though for a small cycle like this nolvadex on hand will do. Others say you may need HCG to keep the boys fat for during the cycle or for immediately afterwards. Probably unnecessary, but you could run it for 10 days right after your last inject at 500 iu/wk to kickstart the boys into action.

Good luck, and remember, it's never too late to live to the fullest.

interesting that on boldenone you are experiencing good libido, that is one drug I haven't touched in probably 20 years and it always made me wonder if adding a little bit into my protocols might be worth the experiment

are you guys that are experimenting with boldenone finding consistent good libido results while on it with your other protocols?

I have a question back at the gym now for 3 years after about 10 yrs off at age 54 now been on trt for about 2 years usual dose 200 mg ml every two weeks of cyp.starting a 12 week cycle of 200 mg ml every five days then tapering back to my trt dosage. Into my second week and noticed some gains strength /size eating all the protein I can along with supplements averaging 200 mg protein a day.good foods. Any thoughts ? Did a few cycles back in the day. Gym routine has always been very aggressive. At this age what? Is a good rest cycle between work to gain maximum benefits?
