No teratogenicity (birth defect) issues for men. The problem is its effect on developing embryos in women. The drug is out of your system 5 days after stopping, though they tell women to wait 30 to be sure,

Good luck! Persevere, knowing that whatever sides occur typically ease off after a few days at a given dose, so you can bump up when ready. Worst case scenario, drop back down. Even things like dry eyes at 20mg are often not as bad at 100mg later.

You'll likely see crazy, but brief breakouts that move from one area to the next, with the "hardest to treat" regions on the body, last, That's a good sign.

I like this by Burt's Bees. Last 12 hours overnight but not if you have a meal, then need to re-apply (same with all lip balms). But this one seems to last longer than Chap Stick.

I bought a 6 month supply of isotretinoin from India... 180 x 5mg gelcaps. Havn't started a course yet. I don't have acne problems, even while on AAS. I have slightly oily skin, and will get a a few pimples here and there... nothing I can't control with a salicylic acid body wash.

I was hoping to get some skin rejuvination (elasticity, etc.) from running a short course or two. However, I'm reading that the effects of using this medication for pore size can be long term... is that correct? Did I make an error for my intended use?

What do you mean "effects of pore size"? It reduces pore size, a very desirable effect. The length of time that lasts, or even its permanency, is based on a number of factors. Basically the older you are, the longer they'll stay smaller.

Just making sure brother. I don't really have issues with my pores. Maybe I do and can't see it. I just wanted to double check as to my intended use before jumping on. From all that I've gathered, I'm GTG. However, since this thread was still going, I thought I would throw out this question.

No worries. This stuff scared the shit out of me for years. Now I wish I had done it much earlier. Ask about anything that concerns you.

AAS makes our pores even larger, which contributes to looking older. I know, I never paid much attention to it either, but women notice, and are well aware of the importance of pore size to the appearance of healthy skin.

Yeah, man. It is regarded as one of the few true cures in medicine when pushed hard and monitoring aminotransiferases and hepatorenotoxicity.

Harsh stuff, though. Of course. So, not everyone elects to use it that way. Some guys just low dose it to manage acne during blasts.

So far no side effects. Eased into at 20mg per day, 10mg at breakfast and 10mg at dinner. Fat content is not super high, but there is some. Now at 40mg a day. I haven't had pimples or acne since I was young but had a big one pop on nose of all places. It went away pretty quick, though. I'm not taking it for acne but for very oily skin, monstrous pores, and the hopeful collagen increase for some loose, old-man skin... particularly turkey neck. Have had sores inside nose pop up, but I can't tell if that's just the dry heat (gas) from colder weather or the Accutane. Lips aren't that dry... yet. I'm feeling cocky and thinking of skipping the 60mg dose and going right to 80mg next week.

When I was young, I used a course of Accutane for severe acne and all the acne disappeared, but instead I had acne scars on my face. Hasn't disappeared anywhere. I don't recommend to anyone

probably shouldn't have "picked at them" thats what mostly causes scarring is from "picking" like a tweeker

I have no idea what you are talking about... But the dermatologist prescribed me that course and I think he knows what he's doing...

The scars suck (though there are many new techniques now to very effectively reduce or eliminate them), but after reading hundreds of studies, involving thousands of dermatologists and hundreds of thousands of patients, covering every aspect of isotretinoin, I've never once seen it suggested that it worsens acne scarring in any way.

Are you splitting the dose? That's really important for keeping sides to a minimum.

I'm really methodical about this one because I have such high hopes. Definitely splitting between breakfast and dinner. I used to even wait a bit before taking my evening supplements, but now I make sure to take immediately so it can mix with dietary fats. I have bidets set up, which make wiping a short affair, so I should be alright there. I'm still waiting on my Temu order which includes those you recommended. Hopefully by the time the dry lips manifest I'll have the shipment.

Done with accutane, but that hyaluronic lip balm continues to be a permanent fixture lol. Just great stuff.

Probably an illegally high concentration of hyaluronic acid or something, considering the source, but damn it works so well.

It's got me on the hunt for other hyaluronic acid products.

1 gram, a quarter teaspoon, holds a gallon and half of water!

Right now at 31 I still get acne, just not horrible acne or any cystic acne at all. I do however get it regardless of blast or cruise, maybe a little bit affected by dairy intake (more when I eat dairy obviously) but I'm not quitting cheese so I guess that's life.

I intentionally ate the stuff that always made my acne worse while I was using the accutane. I figured it was best to stress test the system so I could gauge how effectively it was working.

Relapse after 16 is no surprise, since sebaceous glands aren't even fully developed at that point so they grow back quickly lax The odds of it happening go down with age.

Still, you were probably better off than if you hadn't taken it. Relapses aren't nearly as severe as the original acne, from what I've read.
