After zapcap questions

How would one distribute the finished product into vials after the zapcap filtration? Wouldnt you contaminate bye injecting the vowels without a filter or is that why you use the oven search around for a while and can't find a right answer.

The zapcap is your filter and anything that goes through it, assuming good technique and a sterile receiver, will be sterile.

I take a 60cc syringe and grab as much gear as it will hold then dispense into my open, pre-sterilized vials. Soon as they are filled, i cap and crimp.

Wouldn't this allow for dust or possible other germs to enter while your filling the vials? Is their a cleaner way?

That's why your aseptic technique is just as important as how you filter the product. You want as clean an environment as possible, no pets, no fans, no open windows, etc etc

Not back in the oven bc that temp and time won't do anything but get it hot.
hot enough to kill any bacteria that got in during the filling process. I know lots of labs that do this. not too hot to melt the rubber stopper or flip cap but I guess 20 mins would suffice.

That wouldn't work the oil would need hours, like shotloads of them to kill anything. Dry heat sucks for sterilization and if you used good aseptic technique then there will be probably nothing in there and the BA would inactivate any bacterium. Most bacteria, fungus, dust, etc.. resides about 18 inches from the ground, after that the air is very clean. Think about this; when you draw you pull back the amount of air equal to the volume of oil you want and you inject that into the vial, have you died yet?

Sterile syringe
Remember you must pour 10.5-11 ml in each vial in order to be able to effectively draw 10 ml out of them, some adheres to glass, a little is left above the stopper (when vial is upside down to draw) thus very hard/impossible to draw it all.

As for sterility
consider a used or DIY glovebox

DIY:

Cut out a ventilation "port" and attach some filter paper/membrane to it (even duct tape on the edges works fine) so that clean air may pass in/out to compensate for gloves movement, while keeping bacteria out.

Something roughly similar to this

only smaller, with filter paper or membrane in the center of it.

IMO it's better to make it out of an aquarium.

Positively add air filter ports.

If made of plastic, make sure it withstands sanitizing chemicals, i.e. alcohol, BA, formaldehyde, etc.

Hope this helps.

Then you know a lot of labs that have no idea what they're doing lol. I suggest reading up on dry heat sterilization before attempting any home brewing of your own.

I'll give you $100 if you just stop breathing for good. Hold your breath and don't let go. Ever.

That's a waste of time...
